With SOPA and PIPA officially stalled, many believed the entire affair was over. Not so. A house bill, aimed at trying to catch online child pornographers would turn all citizens into suspects, and give the government the right to view your browsing history, search history, etc.

While catching people who do such an atrocious thing is good, it should not come at the expense of others freedom.

The bill that could screw us over

What makes you think they aren't doing this now? This bill just legitimizes it and gives it a warm fuzzy feeling by adding child protection rhetoric.

If you have not learned anything about US Politics yet learn this. When they want something the powers that be will keep rewording and rewriting the bill to get what they want.

SOPA isnt gone, there just hasnt been enough time to rewrite it and resubmit it yet.

I'mma go ahead and clear my history of all those tentacle video-oh...I mean remove filefront spam forum threads that have suspicious sounding names in them :)

But yeah, what Anlushac said is true, the NSA already monitors all your calls, emails, and text messages. I'm pretty sure they already check your browsing history.
