Hello there. Let's talk about guns. Specifically, how easy it is to obtain one in Britain.
I've rather liked bolt-action WW2 rifles for quite a while, and would like to get my hands on a Mosin-Nagant or Lee-Enfield some time in the future. A military relative has agreed to organize a range day next year when I can get a feel for various firearms, and maybe they'll even have some old relics lying around disused in the armoury.
I'd like to get a better idea of the sort of relevant questions to ask before I show up at the police station, so who here knows about the legality of obtaining a bolt-action rifle in the UK? WW2 pistols (automatic or revolvers) are on the table here as well.
EDIT: Not literally on the table. Ha. Ha.
I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

I don't think it's that easy to obtain a license to carry and use those types of firearms, however, Gov.uk normally has the processes for these kinds of things on it's website somewhere;
It would probably be useful to read this and therefor you could go into the process knowing what to expect.
