So, recently the LHC has started its heavy-ion run. While I'm not sure many people will care for the detail, the events do look quite pretty :)

I'd like to know what came out of that collision. Probably just lighter nuclei and subatomic particles aplenty though.

Also what is the sqrt(s) refer to and is that unit Amp*electron Volt?

I'll pay attention when they figured out how to create and sustain ample amounts of antimatter.

Why?

Also what is the sqrt(s) refer to and is that unit Amp*electron Volt?

The first is the centre of mass energy (they use S because of the Mandelstam Variables. The second doesn't stand for Amps from what I remember, it's because they're running with Ions they use A and/or Z before, though I can't remember why nor what each one meant.

necrosect;5422344Why?

Because it just isn't that important. There are better things for humanity to focus on, like unf'cking ourselves for starters.

It could discover unknown energy source's, that would unf*#k humans by lessening the burning of fossil fuels........? And the massive war machine the US is, good for all humans is it ?

How much do you know about it? I'm assuming absolutely loads since you can judge its worth so keenly.
