As the thread title suggests, I am just tired of today's youth. The teenagers I see today are just a bunch of angry, rebellious punks. I can't stand the "typical" teenager. Just for clarification, here is what I consider a "typical" teenager. 1. 13-17 years old (18 is the legal age) 2. Has little or no respect for parents. 3. Has little or no respect for teachers. 4. Has little or no respect for any authority figures, i.e. the previously listed, law enforcement, etc. 5. Gets bad grades in school and doesn't attempt to improve. 6. Ruins, or is currently ruining, their future by doing stupid things such as drinking alcohol, using drugs/narcotics, getting a girl pregnant (or getting pregnant, for the ladies), etc. 7. Has a carefree, "I'm invincible!" attitude toward life and doesn't seem to care that his decisions made today can, and will, affect him in the future. I am tired of walking through Best Buy and being stared down like I'm a shoplifter, or walking through a sporting goods store and being stared at by all of the "rednecks" (not a bad thing, just stating a "fact") who automatically assume that I'm just a punk teenager that is what I just described. ^ Here is another small thing that, obviously, irritates me. I don't the last time I heard someone my age call an adult "Sir" or "Ma'am." It's a simple concept to me, just a sign of respect, even if you don't know the person. The subject of "teen love" also irritates the heck out of me. I know teens like dating, it's just a little overrated. I guess I could just be jealous that I've only had one girlfriend, and that only lasted a week or less, so it doesn't really count. Time and time again I've seen my friends get all excited about the girl they just asked out, yet time and time again I see the same guy talking crap about the girl he was so hyped up about after they break up. To me, it's just stupid and not worth the hassle. My "theory" is that if my potential girlfriend and marriage aren't on the same page, then why spend the time dating? After all, isn't the point of dating to eventually end in marriage? Well, unless you live in the U.S. then it will sometimes end up with the boyfriend killing/raping/kidnapping his girlfriend. roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif Another problem is that nowadays kids are "falling in love." I mean, what is worse than a 12 or 13 year old girl getting pregnant? It's sickening. I'm done ranting for now, I'll add more later. Thanks for your time. smilie.gif

Some of us are like that, yeah, but not all. There are teenagers who do appreciate the education they recieve, don't break the law, etc, and basically just earn somewhat what they get. As for dating, it all chocks up to expierience, I guess, I'd rather have dated atleast a few times as a teenager so I'm not completely incompetent and inexperienced when I'm an adult and dating. *shrug* Love can also strike anywhere, at anytime, who knows, you could fall for a girl in highschool and actually do love eachother deeply.

Well, the whole idea behind dating is to prepare yourself socially to meet girls. The thing is, if you are looking for 'the one' that is supposed to like you for who you are, then why do you have to date?

nothing new in your description of teens, it all boils down to personal choice and how you want to spend your teenage years, be it having fun or getting in serious trouble, one thing i know is that the teenage years are golden and oh so fleeting, trust me once you hit 20+ its all a slow downhill of responsability and boredom. so dont be too concerned and enjoy yourself.

amoreelitesoldierGood point, I guess. I can honestly say there are times I really want a girlfriend...

this is one of the main teenage struggles that you only realize it was easy to resolve only when you get to be my age; my advice is this about girls teenage girls, they are just as inexperienced as you are so the best thing is not to try too hard or to look too desperate , just raise a flag, dress nice take a shower every day, wear some cologne, if you are fat , diet and exercise. youl get swarmed by the babes that like your style in no time.

Great post. I can fully agree, while some of us aren't like that, most of the teenage population is like that. Although i don't have as much respect for public school teachers as one would hope, its for a good reason. They just don't give a crap about their students anyway, or most of them. As for teen love, oh god don't get me started. one fo my classmates has a boyfriend, than wants to be with her ex-boyfriend as well, and she either can't choose one, or stop talking about them anyway. God its so annoying. madx.gif

i feel i have to mount a nationwide campaign to get teenagers to stop working, nothing robs you more of precious teenage experiences than working, unless you are starving , its best to quit and hang out with friends, specially girfriends:naughty: , you have a long life ahead of you to get all the material things you want, if you are living aon your own already, sorry cant help you.
