About fifteen minutes ago, my JROTC battalion commander called me up and requested that I report for duty tomarrow morning at 1000 hours for assistance at Ellingtonfield to help load and unload vital supplies from military transport aircraft, including C-130s. These supplies are to be flown over to Louisiana to help in the recovery effort. As the battalion sergeant major for my unit, I am required to help. Anyways, what that means is I'll be gone most of tomarrow helping to keep the supplies flowing in and out of this area. I'll be with a couple other people from my school helping the National Guard, and hopefully we'll be able to play a major part, or so I wish. I'm just glad that I can help out and not stand by helpless. Many people from my school have already collected several hundred dollars to donate, and now I can physically help in the process of recovery.

I havn't even been fully briefed on what we're doing tomarrow, so more may be in store for me than just what I know now.

Oh well. I just hope its something your comfortable doing. The military has a knack for not telling you even half of what you end up doing. Becareful however you go :)

I know what you mean. Something I'll probably happen and I'll get my ass shipped to Iraq. Kidnapped, if you know what I mean. Heh, atleast let me finish high school! lol

Not sure you can refer to that region as fun at the moment :uhm:

But yeh, good luck Aero, I really hope this situation resolves itself in the next months, tho things will not be the same for a LONG time. Kudos to you for being drafted in an honorable fashion as this ;)

Good luck and be careful. Just me but I would do it just to get a ride there and back in a C-130.
