Dude, Rawls' "veil of ignorance." If you had to choose which system to live in, not knowing whether you would be talented or rich or whatever, which one would you choose? Think about it as if you had to choose what sort of world you would live in before you were born.

If you chose "dictatorship," you must realize that the chances of you being the dictator are 1:7 billion, so it's not a very safe bet. You'll die soon anyway.

the StaplerStalinism. It's just like a dictatorship, but citizens have even less "rights" and freedom.

LOL If i was to make a small country it would be Communistic - why? First because it is small, so you don't need to manage different variations in ethnicity or race. Second, because under communism, workers are the most respected class, so it would result in a good industrial output. Education is free and forced (unlike capitalistic college payments) that will make 100% educated people. Economy should be self-sustaining, except exports and and small imports. That seems optimal for a small country. For bigger country dictatorship would work better, to keep ethnic and racial conflicts regulated.

X-CNot every area on the planet would get hit. I mean a majority of the population would die in an all out nuclear war, but I am sure groups of people would survive and start over.
you forget the fallout... global nuclear winter making all survivors die of radioactive poisoning.
Economy should be self-sustaining, except exports and and small imports. That seems optimal for a small country.

with modern living standards and modern technology, it is very hard for smaller countries to be self-sustaining due to the obvious limitations on natural resources and suitable lands. furthermore, if you cut yourself off from the market of rest of the world, your economy has only little potential of growth. this is particular bad for for a country with a plan economy (like a communist country) where there is no economic incitement to begin with.

^ The reason I chose dictatorship, was because I would become dictator. Hence the thread title "If you could start your own country"

X-CWell I was assuming that I took control of the United States, in which case if I wanted I could destroy the world within three hours. I enable all our active nuclear bombs, and unless an attack on the world so massive that I will go down in history as the most sadistic physchotic man ever to live on this planet.

How about...no....:nodding: :nodding: ....lets kill just one person first and then will think of something evilier to do.

I would have an ultra capatalist state, no goverment would exist, just a lot of treaties that bind most of the major companies together, all puplic services would be privatised, even the courts and police.
