Funny, but the preachy end is nothing people haven't heard before, or argued against succesfully.

I loved the video right up until the point of "you're a moron if you don't vote". Seriously, our choices suck and you expect me to vote in another "lesser of two evils" election? The hell with that.

Then people always suggest "vote for a third party". Oh, and be one of the 500,000 people out of 250 million (or so) who vote for them? Gee, I'm making a difference! Look at me...I'm voting for a candidate whom half the population has never heard of and never gets coverage on any mass media outlet, save the internet. Nope. No reason to get complacent and just say "gee, well at least we get two choices". Not going to happen. Our system is broken and I refuse to feed the monster any more.

(I am actually voting in this election, however I just hate when people go on the "if you don't vote, you're a moron" rant. It's a choice last time I remembered and that choice is nobody else's business but your own.)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Jeffro again.

The two candidates are exactly the same. They try and tell you they are different, but they are not. Change is not going to happen. The only people who have the power to change anything are the people on wall street.

As you can guess, I am not voting this year. I have been heckled dozens of times about this by people who want to register to vote, just to vote for Obama. I live in a college town, Obama has already won the area I am in.

No candidate will ever do what is best for the country. They will only do what is in their best interests. Voting is just saying you like one persons own interests over the other guy's.

You get rep for mentioning Neil peart in my presence.

I feel sorry for the States... I mean where I live (in Quebec) I've got a choice of between 5 parties, 3 or 4 of which always have a decent chance to win, which represent a broad spectrum of political ideals. In Canada, if you don't vote... well you're not a moron, but you're not helping anyone.

Vote you fools. It will be you same people crying when you end up with a communist govenment one day ! Or one that takes your rights away in anycase. Big business does run govenment from the side, but, YOU, the people get the final say, vote, or be someone who's opinion doesnt get heard or count at all. If you fail to bother to vote, you, by default, give religious groups more power in politics.Because, religions poor millions of dollars into advertising, so there followers will vote in the manner the church would like them so, so in the end , these religious groups have gained alot of power, free thinking people who have failed to vote have helped this effect, if the present day attitude keeps up, sooner or later, religious groups will have an effect on your laws, freedoms, liberties, and rights. You really should vote just to balance the books with some of the idiotic dweebs that are out there, the sort that would vote communist ! but the best reason for voting ..... Not voting is to be pretty ignorant, and arrogant towards your for-fathers, who fought, [ ww2] to give you the freedoms you have, and not be dictated to by the likes of a saddam or hitler, no argument will cut it, if you think it does, pretend your talking to an old digger who lost all his mates in ww2, still cut it, excuses for not voting, pissweak, they died for it and you cried about it......you should be slapped silly for not voting........maybe slapped with a gun and made to go fight and earn your freedoms, so you understand what it takes to gain freedoms..... l have voted since l was legally permitted too. My vote will NEVER change a govenment, but it has more say than any of yours, and it all helps, revolutions start with ONE person. ...........................................VOTE ! ............................................. VOTE , OR BE A MORON ! hahaha true but.......

I have more power with a gun that I do with a vote.

Yes big business runs this country. Look at how much money large corporations donate to candidates. If wall street is not buying politicians by the dozen, then what are they doing?

If you want to make any impact on this world you must either go into the sciences, or get into a boardroom. Voting is ineffective at changing anything. The politicians are not forced into doing what is in the common good. Yes you can vote them out, but you will only get another person who is in office for their own interests.

I don't care about the religious groups. I still have freewill to do whatever I want to. They can make laws banning things, but for the near future, they will get struck down by the courts. Yes they can pack the courts with their own kind, and at that point we can use the 2nd amendment to set things right. The fundamentalists love 2 things, guns and religion.

but the best reason for voting ..... I have no reason to be proud of my country. Being proud of being born into a country is one the most stupid things you can think of.

Hitler had to interest in America until we decided to side with the allies. Only the Japanese were angry at us for refusing to sell them our oil. America has only made enemies. If we would have kept selling oil to Japan they would not have attacked us.

If our founding fathers wanted everyone to vote, they would have made voting mandatory. Making everyone vote will lead to a worse fate than just having people voting for communists. Elections would become a popularity contest, as it is slowly becoming today.
