What is the best policy to have for immigration? People in my area (medium town north of Chicago) are getting upset about the number of illegal immigrants trying to have the same rights as immigrants who go through the process. There is some pretty heavy arguing on both sides. How difficult should it be for a person to get citizenship?

They should be in fear of their life and be able to come as a temporary visitor apart from that it should be that they must have a job when they get there and it cant be filled by anyone else available locally, I know it sounds harsh but we aren't here as an all you can eat welfare state.

Note: don't post in white or people become annoyed

We all have had a friend who was gettin screwed by the system. I think that there should be an easier way for naturalization, allowing for less benifits, but lets the govt know where they are, and allowed one year to learn the language and pass the first part of the citizen process. What about for other countries?

The policy of immigration here in the US needs to be very strict, and to be enforced harshly(and efficiently). I live in California, so odin, I know what you're talking about. They need to first have a good command of the language, be knowledgable of our history, and have their background checked rigorously. Then they can become citizens. The bottom line is the process needs to reformed, and then made efficient, productive, and meticulous. First, the border needs to be secured, and the immigration services(INS, etc) reformed.

I hate illegal immagrants beyond anything. I have many at my school. I live south of Chicago, and the number of illegal immagrants here is amazing. Too bad they can't be Canadian.

Stricter border control. Also, shoot anyone who tries to swim across that damn river. No one will know. The ones we do find in America should all be shipped off to Europe, specifically France. Don't send them back to Mexico, or they will just try to get back in.

In England the system needs completely replacing it's really screwed right now. I'll post a brief summary of it tomorrow when I can be more awake.

Thank's, we dont want that filth, just bloody shoot them trying to "escape" and be done with it.

In Canada they need to pass some point-score test like thing based upon their education, work, etc. I don't really mind immigrants, but when they come in illegally, like by boat from China, then they should be sent home. As it is, immigrants to most of the essential jobs that keep things going, they do the harder jobs, taxi-driver (long-ass hours), corner-store (robberies and gun-nuts), slaughter-houses, etc.

Thats cool and all, but in the US, there has been more hispanic immigrants in the last year than any 10 years of any other nationality. Yes, they do take the menial jobs (doesn't require any paperwork), but I know MANY college students who still cant get a job. and Yes, my friends do want the lawn work.

You think it's bad there? I haven't met another British person since 1993 :p. Keep all the buggers out, that's what I say. I pay my taxes so I know that when I deliberately crash into a brick wall, I'll get medical treatment for free. I don't pay my taxes so the scum of the Earth can claim assylum because they were bullied at school, and they don't want a job, and come and get a free-and-easy life here.

Join me, my British friends, as we sing...

A thank you, I'm here until Tuesday. Oh crap, I'm two days late... *runs*

We have a shitload if imigrants here in Sweden too, almost everyone is from an arab country. Almost every imigrant is cocky as hell and if you beat the shit out of one he gets hes 10 brothers... It's hard not too hate them if you live where I live.

PS. I have nothing againt them when they live in "thier" country.
