So liberals dont give a shit about babies in the womb. Abort them, use a coathanger, wtf ever. But once the kid is born, they want the kid paid for in everything he/she does from tax dollars. Create any government program possible and make it so the kid doesnt have to pay for anything.
On the other hand...
Conservatives care deeply about the baby. Protect it at all costs, no matter what. Yet the second the baby is born, its on his own and too bad if it ends up on the streets.
Just something I thought about today.
I think PJ O'Rouke put it best, and I don't have an exact quote, so here is my closests approximation:
A life loving person would say that a baby should not be aborted, and a murderer should not be put to death. A conservative would say that the baby should live, and the murderer should die. A callous pragmatist would say that both should be allowed to die. But it takes the mind of a liberal to come to the conclusion that a baby should die, but the murderer should live :P
Basically, its all hypocriscy. I, for one, am in the callous pragmatist side. I say that abortion should be perfectly legal, and that they are on their own once they turn 18 :P
Feel me. Do I feel pretty?

I love not being either conservative or liberal. I also love the nice words that politicians use to labels these groups of thought.
The two sides need to be named after what they really are for: Stay the Same (or Same) and Change.
Aye, even the term liberal is confusing, as conservatism's economic policies are directly from classical liberalism, whilst liberals are from the progressives.
Liberals want the baby dead, but once its alive, it damn sure must stay that way. You shoot up a school bus full of disabled children and liberals wont want the death sentence for you.
Conservitives want the baby alive, but once its born, to hell with it. Its on its own. Ends up on the street and dies, who cares?
Liberals are all faggots. Conservatives are all religious nuts.
Is that black and white enough for you all?
No because Im conservative but I have no religion.
It's an interesting situation that I've thought about before. But I don't think it's really contradictory to believe in abortion rights and not support the death penalty. It's just separate values for separate circumstances.
I am largely pro-life, and I do not support the death penalty in any form. It's not an issue of thinking that murderers don't deserve to die, in certain cases I'm sure they do; it's whether or not you feel the state ought to have the authority to decide who lives and who dies by its laws. It's a profound implication, you know.
I'd go for eye for an eye at the farthese, but more accuratly I'd like people put to death for the small shit, like grand theft auto or graffiti or shoplifting, but I dont like abortion.
Maybe its because the fetus didnt do anything to rate death, but the thief made a decision to steal.

And then there are those of us who aren't retarded enough to define our political opinions in the black and white terms of party politics.
