Fallout is overrated. We've detonated hundreds of nuclear weapons in the past and nowadays we could make nukes with a much lower radiation component.

That really only applies to the US and a few other countries. Most of the countries that have nuclear capability are nowhere near the level of efficiency that we have. (they're also the countries most likely to use them, go figure).
Smitty025;4873571I think this could be part of a second stimulus plan. I can see it now: $600 billion for construction of gas chambers to be used to kill all residents of Somalia.
The economy will be back to normal in no time!
If only the President payed attention to these forums... !!!
We could employ the residents of Somolia to build the devices used to kill them!
You just dont tell them the chambers are for them. Once they are done, have everybody go inside to inspect for cracks, and bolt the door shut. Open the valve to the asshole of the americans who just ate taco bell.
You can all thank me later for my brilliance. Smitty, we split 50/50.
The problem with nukes is they're the great equaliser. Sure we can nuke Somalia, but then it gets kinda hard to complain about our enemies using WMDs on their problems or to justify non-proliferation.
But we justify it as a matter of international security. The piracy is affecting any ship, any country. Declare the pirates international criminals, so you depersonalize the US involvement. Then, you say you are acting in accordance with international interests.
