What...the...fuck? :wtf:

At this point in the game, I say lets bolt out of the middle east and let them sort out their own shit. That whole place is a mess and I say we wipe our hands clean from it...

You shouldn't be ordering them around in the first place. However them having their own opinion (different from yours) is NO reason to stop giving them advice.

Ontopic: Banning any form of music is limiting the freedom of expression and therefor in my eyes not acceptable or wanted. I might dislike certain types of music but I won't stop you from listenin to them.

What this discussion is missing is the person arguing in favour of Iran, so I'll take that role for now :)

Is it really so strange that the Iran wants to ban cultural influences from the west? Just look at the USA, their moral standards are sometimes questionable even for European people (proof would be the continuing debates about the US here) so I can imagine that ultra-conservative muslims don't really want their chidlren to be influenced by this culture. I'm sure even some Americans (bible-belt fanatics etc.) would love to see certain kinds of music banned. They also have a different view on freedom of speech and equality simply because the revolutions which established this way of thinking never happened in the middle east.

Well, Ahmadinajad isn't a guy that I would call educated. From what I know he was nothing more than the chief of police in Tehran before becoming a candidate in the Irani elections. I'm sure that there is not one country in the world who would want anything to do with him, with the exception of Syria. But this is what people voted for, if they voted for some ultra-conservative president then they'll have to face the consequences. I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. But sometimes I wonder how they can let a stupid, nearly brainwashed, guy to get the role of a president. I've got to admit it, he is just stupid. Even Bush would seem like an Einstein compared to him. I'm sure that we'll just have to wait a little longer before Iran gets isolationist too. I just hope that people in Iran will open up their eyes and elect a more reformist president, this guy is just too stupid! He openly states that he wants Israel erased from the map, he says that the holocaust never took place, now he bans all "western" music and God knows what he'll do next!

This guy is gonna be the next Sadamm or Hitler. The cost of a B-2 strike would be nothing compared to how much damage this guy is gonna cause to the people of Iran, probley the Middle East, and even maybe the US. Well, this is the begaining of World War 3, the US has been in decline for a while, and if we beat this dictator than we should last maybe 50 more years, untill all business goes to China, we don't make anything, and than China gobbles up all the fuel with their great (by that time) military and cause the US to lose superpower status.

Just look at the situation in Iraq. Just two days after Saddam was toppled terrorist attacks began to rain down on the occupation troops from both Sunni and Shia nationalist resp. extremist groups. If the US topples the Irani government, I don't even think that they're going to make it out of there alive. Iran has a population of ca 61.3 million people and is growing by the rate of 2.6% every year. And more than a half of them are brainwashed, anti-American fanatics. I even believe that relations between Europe and the USA will shrink to nothingness, seeing as how bad it got during the Iraqi Liberation War. Don't forget that a lot of terrorist organizations are surely going to join up with Irani insurgents too. Hizbollah, Al-Qaida, the Talibans, Islamic Jihad, Hamas and more. Iran will just be a dead end, so it's vry foolish foranybody to attack that country.

If the Un decides to go in there the terrorists won't fight. There would be armies from countries in the middle east, and I dbout they want to be killing people from the countries they are trying to get on their side. You can't win when you are fighing the UN. I doubt Russia would want to go to war with them, they don't want be on the reciving end of the missles they sold to them;)

If you want to stop it now just have the guy assassinated, or help some of the people start a revloution.

untill all business goes to China, we don't make anything

The chinese are stupid. There economy cannot keep going like it is now even if the goverment regulates it. They are like the US after WWI. We made everything for europeans. We evenually went bust with the great depression. China's days as a uber manufacturing country are numbered, they will either bust like the US did, or the workers will find a way to unionize(yes it a communist goverment, but I doubt they will last). If they unionize, they will want better pay and conditions, it will be as much, if not more to make something over there than over here.

China's econemy will keep growing because unlike America, they don't have a minimum wage and with so many people, if there was it would be nigh on impossible to enforce. That and a 1 billion man workforce makes China's econemy expand rapidly by being the top producer in the world of products. With them now delving into the advanced sciences we can expect to see leaps and bounds by China in the next few years. They'll be the ones to claim Mars and set up mines and eventualy cities there. After them will be US and Russian joint efforts unless Russia's Puten makes the country like it was back during the USSR, and the cold war officialy starts up again (as if it ever actualy ended).

Iran however is becoming an escelating danger, with their hatred for Israel I can see a heated situation coming up where they attempt to use their so called "defencive" weapons to try and wipe out Israel, making the land which they have died to get for years useless and deadly for a generation, however at the same time Israel would counter attack and the entire middle east would be wiped out before the US could even attempt to interfere. Tensions would rise between jews and muslims all over the world and there would be a rise in hate crimes, bloodshed for decades and nothing good of it. That is why threats to Israel are so dangerous.

And Israel is (supposedly) planning an attack like the one on Iraq in 1982(?). Of course now it's not secret, but even if it went through it would be the final straw for Iran.

I think the worst thing that can be done right now is use violence against them. I always get the feeling Iran (and North Korea for that matter) are just taunting the West to provoke a reaction. Iran is pretty confident that it can beat the US on home soil I'd say.
