I'm looking at this forum, seeing kid roasted in a van, old lady raped by an 11 year old, dog hog tied and drowned. Does the USA have more sickos than elsewhere? or are they just more eager to publish the sick goings on?

i have no idear but bye the things ive read I THINK SO no afence to all the good american citizens at gaming forums
Its the way the media shows things mostly.
It is also to do with culture as well I reckon. That stuff doesnt go on too much in the UK, possibly because we have grown up with a different set of moral codes, and with a different schooling system.

you know as well asi do that our society is just as fucked. it's simply because of the overwhelming american demographic on these forums that we are 'fed' american sickness rather than british...
O/T: geordie, huh? i'm in Darlington. :)
I'm from chicago, but i am living in england for the semester. I have come to believe a few things.
US news BLOWS. It focuses on internal, pitiful things. You turn on abc news and they are showing things from a lost dog to minor deaths. Very different from stuff like BBC. They show actual news around the world. They don't care about some 11 year old kid acting stupid. They show the big stuff going on. You never see things about the brittish parliment, or russias political affairs in the states. The states are luckey to hear if a new french pres is elected. You see the minor things in us news, so you think it is just in the us. I really don't see too much of a difference in the culture between our nations.
Americans need to lighten up. Can't drink until 21, 70 hr workweeks, no time for lunches, no time to relax. The brittish have long lunches. Back in the states, I am luckey if I get 15 minutes to eat, here you easily get a half hour, usually more. You can't relax in the states, You rush to everything.
I like it here, but I will be very happy to go back home.
btw, what is with "Cheers"? I hear it everywhere. I know it is a brittish thing, but it is pretty confusing. They say it before a toast (understandable), for goodbye, thank you, see you later, and alot of other stuff. Oh well, time for another Stella  i am taking full advantage of the drinking age :D
enjoying our fair nation? where in England are you staying?
damn my off topicness....
cheers - usually use it as a 'thank you', often sarcastic. "cheers, mate. you fucking wanker."
twice damn my off topicness....
I didn't make it!
News in America is just more focused on tragedy and stuff. The fact is that most idiots who watch the news here could care less what is going on on the other side of the planet. They want to hear sick shit about 11 year olds raping 100 year old women and whatever. Not that I am with those idiots because I would rather learn about stuff outside the box.
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

its the media that is sick
The media shows what the people want to see. No more, no less. I must add that I wasn't completely accurate earlier. I usually watch BBC, but I just went to the local news in Grantham, Lincolnshire and it was talking about a male nurse excused for indecent assault (sexual assault) and a chopped up body. I guess it is the difference between national and local news

Heh, brittish media focus more on scandal news like Beckham had an affair with Svennis right hand and stuffs like that.
Swedish media sucks too (atleast the newspapers), we have one decent newspaper but the rest sucks ass.
