Not even Beslan? Jesus Christ. Beslan hurt me more just imagining what it would be like for all those school kids. Anyway, just like Pethe said. Change the channel, you haven't been forced to do anything.

Are you serious? Does the word Russia, Chechnyan (sp?) terrorists, school and +350 dead ring any bells?

But Bhopal wasn't terrorist attack, it was an accident.

Bhopal had a valuble lesson to be learned, and 15,000 dead so far, maybe 600,000 injured. While it's not the best example, it's still a worthy candidate for impassioned memory.

But indeed, who remembers it now?

Beslan was an attack on School #1 in that Russian town. Chechan terrorists gathered the students into the school gym, and rigged the gym with explosives. The exact results aren't known, but it seems when the Russian special forces attacked, several of the bombs were detonated, killing many of the children. The rest may have been killed in the gunfire, or as a last ditch attempt by the terrorists.

The second anniversay of that event was only 10 days ago. But who remembered it?

I remember that one, but I just didn't remember what the name was. There was also that attack at the theatre in Russia that ended up with many people dying when the Russian special forces used gas to take our the terrorists.

I hate how bush sounds like a freaking broken record. He never says anything but "After the attack on 9/11" "We will stay the course" " the war on terror". America was never invincible and it never will be, the sad thing is bush has not increased security much. Its like this: I'm fairly sure that the New York police Department has close to the same amount of members as the coast guard (give or take a few thousand) and they are supposed to defend our whole 19,924 km of coastline? with beteen 30,000 and 40,000 ( i think its 39,000) people? and the thing is congress is mostly republicans so they are too weak to change anything, and there are too many republicans in the supreme court.

Oh, the Chechnya incedent! Yeah, I remember that. Really tragic. :(

I didn't hear the word "Beslan" once on the news, so give me a freaking break.

"The exact results aren't known"

actually they are pretty well known at this point, the rigged explosives went off by mistake or not is the only unknown part, followed by shooting of hostages that fled, at this point the school was stormed. The majority of the hostage takers were killed at this moment, most of hostages died within the intital blast and the caving in of the roof.

Chechnya incedent

Beslan is not within chechnya.

Welcome to the world of journalistic sensationnalism. Something I heavily despise.
