Do you think that isolationism should make a return? Our nation is suffering from teribble economic problems. We should focus on that rather than military action. I hope it returns whenever Dubya gets us the hell out of Iraq. I doubt that we'll leave at June 30th. Let's hope we do. If we do, :Party1: . Also, I want those idiots at Abu Gharib to spend 15 years in jail!

Well, I believe we should be isolationist, but nowhere near the levels before world war 2. Keep our military strong.

The increase in gas pricing is a direct result of Clinton draining the reserves in his administration, and a result of Bush conserving.

Isolationism can lead to a bad thing, while in the short run proving to be good. Appeasement for one.

to be truly isolationinst we would need to cut all ties w/ the rest of the world, including trade. Our greates forefathers (jefferson and Washington) both recomended isolationism, but the world has changed alot in the last 200 years. If we did become iso it would probably wreak havic on the world. If would just pulled out of everything but trade (this would include the UN) the world would go on but maybe not so easy....

It is now impossible for the US to return to isolationism. It was possible - as proven - between the two world wars, it isn't possible anymore.
