Reminds me of this, green party candidate, not being invited to a public debate.

Guess two parties is just as bad, especially when their only difference is their name and not the politics. watch?v=iW3TwHr0aAY

Hey we allowed the Tea Party...sorta (Their still Republicans).

We had three parties run a number of years back but IIRC GOP and Dems passed new laws to reduce any chance of a competitor forming. Numerous cases exist of third parties being left out of debates despite requests to attend.

No arguments from me that our two party system sucks and is about as corrupt as you can get without declaring it a Police State.

About the only thing we are missing is a Politician riding in and having his horse declared a God. I assume they are reserving that title for themselves.

The Russian people don't care all that much about a one party system. In fact I would say that many of them like the current system. The current system has brought Russia's economy back from the poor state it was in the early 1990's. Currently Russia has a great deal of influence over world events. While they don't have the same power as the USSR did, they still have enough to make their people feel good about the country. Because things are looking up for the Russian people, they will overlook the bad things the government is doing.

It is the same way with China. The government has helped to make one of the most powerful economies on earth in less than 15 years.

People only complain about the government when things are not going good for the people. Bush had a high approval rating back from 2001 until 2005. Things did not bad for Bush until the economy tanked.

If a party came to power in the US that fixed unemployment, the national debt, the trade defect, immigration, health care, and other major issues in the US I doubt you would see people caring if members of other political parties were not included in debates.

This is a true shame. It's very similar to the accusations that opposing reporters were disappearing when they spoke up against Putin.
