Yeah, but I had hoped the earth would last a good lot longer than four billion years.

we may but we'd probably become the first planet in our solar system since the sun will expand. Either that or we'd fry

they found out it was really caused by the sun. sometimes it has more hot spots than normal. like right now. in the latest ice age, the scientists at that time recorded that there were few sunspots and during the medieval heat, scientists recorded lots of suns spots. and at that time, they had signifigantly less co2 exaust than now. its just a fluxuating time period. in early 1900 they were afraid of a new ice age. a scientist hypothesized that if we released a lot of co2 it might warm the earth. and thats when industry and co2 amount was going up while temperatures were going down.

Negative, according to computer models and observation from similar stars to our own, only Mars would exist as the closest planet. So the "fry" part would apply - but we'd be long dead before the fry part.

If I recall correctly if we were 1000 miles (might be wrong, but the number seemed incredibly small for space) closer to the sun it would be too hot for Earth to support life.

The sooner we freeze, the better. Maybe people will get it into their heads that if we keep abusing something like this, we're going to cause bad things. We might even learn somthing!

It was also said if we were that much farther away as well. We're in just the right spot to support life on this planet.

hope it happens 80+ years from now, so it won't affect me. sadly such changes are already happening.

Correct, it’s referred to as the “habitable zone” or “goldie lock zone”; to close and we get a runaway greenhouse effect to far away and we freeze. We wobble just inside this safety zone, amazing really just a slight tilt of our axis dramatically changes the weather, but without the seasonal tilts the equatorial zones would fry and the Polar Regions would be in perpetual darkness.
