There was a thread about Omaha mall shootings recently and i posted this.

Jack Thompson On Another Windmill Chase - Anti-gaming attorney Jack Thompson sues Omaha police because he sees a connection between video games and Omaha Mall shooting. - Gaming News

Now, if you read the article above you will see that Jack Thompson blames video games again. personally I think that he hasn't got anything better to do so he blames video games. Thousands of people play video games, and only few start shootings. I don't see a connection. it would be like saying that a guy had taken shit before he went on a killing spree, and then saying that shitting is a reason why he did it.

I think that the problems are at home. my parents taught me well, i played all gta games and never thought about going on a killing spree. Jack Thompson is just wasting other peoples time and money.

Yeah but he'll never make any kind of a difference, there's too much money to be made from video games and all he's doing is giving them publicity...he's pretty old anyway hopefully he'll die or something...

The more we talk about Jack thompson the more relevant he becomes...BOYCOTT PEOPLE!

He suffered from attention deficit disorder, mood disorder, oppositional defiant disorder along with parent-child relationship problems. He had undergone two psychiatric hospitalizations before the incident.

erm...video games?

yeah, but he's making it look like the games are the only reason for violence. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a theory how Adolf Hitler traveled to future, played a computer game, and went back to start WWII.

Yay for stupid people. I have no idea why they think this makes people violent. I have never had an extreme urge to get a Desert Eagle or some heavy weapon and go kill people, and I play violent games all the time. It makes no sense to me...

why not sue the the weapon manufacturer. they're a lot more responsible than game makers. and a nut case did it because he was mentally ill, not because of a game. the fact that he might played a game at some point in his life doesn't prove a thing.

and the parents are the ones to blame. they should control what their child does, and teach him/her what's ok to do and what is not.

Dalt;4121699why not sue the the weapon manufacturer. they're a lot more responsible than game makers.
Wrong. How is it the weapon's manufacturer's fault? They had nothing to do with it. AK-47s are illegal in most of the U.S. anyway, so it was probably bought illegally or stolen. I could see how it might be a problem if it was bought illegally and Kalashnikov knew of it, but that is unlikely. It was probably bought from a third party. I suppose, then, with such reasoning, we should sue Colt if somebody buys a 1911 pistol and shoots somebody? Or steals it, even?
and the parents are the ones to blame. they should control what their child does, and teach him/her what's ok to do and what is not.

I agree with you here.

Why do you even give more attention to him? It's clear that Thompson is an ignorant person. There's no cure for that.

Things like the holocaust show us that there were violent, mentally ill notions before video games were invented. The fact that violent, mentally ill notions still exist shows us that we have to give children the love they deserve and need and further the development of equal chances.
