No, it seems recently that the Airbus front landing tires, which for some reason rotates 90 degrres when gear are deployed, are having some trobules with the hydraulics, and need their washers or gaskets or something replaced...

USMA2010Unless you mean because this incident made Airbus aircraft look very sturdy, then you are kinda wrong.

That was an Airbus A320.

I did not know it was an Airbus, because I didn't even bother to read the first post.

Boeing should be mad because the airbus survived.

Yeah, forgot to post in here after i watched it. :p

It was definetly a superb landing, just about as perfect as you can get and everything went as hoped. He came in right on, held the nose up virtually as long as possible, and managed to stop the plane before the ground started hitting the actualy landing gear, all that was lost was the tire.

Seeing as three Boeing 737's and an MD-82 have been involved in fatal crashes in the past month (killing a total of 435 people) i am guessing Boeing would've been pretty pissed off anyway.

I was commenting on the fact that an Airbus made a successful emergency landing, which is bad news for Boeing. Which probably means that people unsure about which to buy, airbus or boeing, will now buy airbus. I wasn't talking about recent crashes.

But, surely you aren't implying that Boeing is annoyed that a potential catastrophe was averted?

Yes I'm saying that. Boeing would have been a lot happier, or atleast the top executives -- the money grabbers.

I know, I was speaking part in jest, part in mock-innocence, but mainly in cynicism
