Simple Question: how would you describe life and why? Is life hell, heaven, a gift, a curse, nothing, pointless, do we all have 1 meaning or do each of us have our own. Do all meanings collectively lead to one great thing, do they lead anywhere. Exactly what are all your thoughts on life, I'd really like to hear this.

Life is just a training session for the afterlife, which last forever in my opinion.
No one can really be sure what exists after life, if anything. Therefore, I don't believe in basing what your life is on something that is not solid and true. Life is simply your time and all you have to do is decide what to do with that time that is given to you.
Even if there is no afterlife, to view life as pointless is to ruin whatever you may have in your existence with depression. Life obviously cannot be a Hell, while there are many terrible things, there is always hope, love, and happiness somewhere in the world, and the very knowledge that there is such a thing should make you realize that life is not a Hell. Likewise the opposite applies for it being a heaven, there is always disease sadness, and suffering. One cannot say for sure whether it is actually a gift or a curse, as for something to be one of the two, it would have to be granted to you. And in this tense, it implies some greater power, so once again, you can't be sure.
In the end it all just comes down to what your religion says you believe, or what you truly believe yourself. No one can really ever change your beliefs, though they can be covered up through religion forced upon you.
Basically, I believe life is something we just have to live out the happiest we can and treasure it while we have it, cause you will never know for certain what is beyond death.

+1 for the Lord of the Rings quote.
I agree with you in some part, I treasure every day, but I believe in an afterlife in Heaven, and life is just getting ready for that.
Here is one of my theories for life, I havn't really stuck with one of my opinions yet simple because i get so many mixed messages from the world around me. This one is kinda morbid but interesting Life is a type of hell, not the apocalyptic kind where everything is burning, but rather something discreet. Basically, those in life who are stuggeling or were born with a disease or simply always have bad luck are hated by God for whatever reason. Life here on earth is the chance to redeem yourself. Those that work from the ground (shittiest part of life) to a success fullness are redeemed and moved onto the next part of their existence. Nobody on earth doesn't have to be redeemed for any reason. Those who are born rich for example have done something bad someplace else, just not as bad as someone who was born on the streets. Rather than having one omnipotent god constantly judging you, you have guardian angles (I cant think of another way to describe them) who are always observing you, they wish for you the best but only you can make that happen. These guardians protect you but at the same time they have the responsibility of deeming whether or not you move onto the next aspect of your existence.
Yes that gets way more complicated. Anyway, what I am basically saying is that life on earth is a lower level of ones existence. It is where you are punished but given a chance to redeem yourself. The resources you have with you are an indication of how bad you were in your previous existence. The only way to beable to reach the next level of your existance is by improving upon your situation and your actions are watch by guardians that want you to move on.
It sounds kinda dorky and far fetched but its difficult to explain in writing (at least to me) and I havn't gone to in depth to justify my beliefs. But if you want I will.
12 30 am sorry for the bad typos
Life is but a stage where we play our part. I don't really think words are enough to describe what life is.
Time2Kill: Those who are afflicted from evil are to blame themselves, because of bad behavior in an earlier life?
It's just a test! You have to also ask the question, "is there reincarnation?" Some people believe that if we are not yet pure when we go we are sent down again or we are sent down again when the Almighty wants us to come back or if we want to we ask. So many different things.

I find the idea that starving children or people who died in genocides are to blame themselves ridiculous.
And it's unbelieveable annoying to bring in a factor, such as a god, for which there has yet to be sustainable scientific evidence. That's the plan the giant, blue banana has for us. Riiiiight.
Operantly you don't understand that "science" can't prove if there is a higher being or not. It's called faith! Also, with the Genocide and everything bad thats happening there is no intervention because we were given free will. If someone wants to kill someone else he's not going to stop it, he most likely will condemn the killer when the killer meets his day. Oh why is there so much suffering and pain and etc etc etc. There is a different between Heaven and Earth, and on Earth there is happiness and suffering and one has to deal with it. Like I said its just a test.
M A S S I V;4047629Dear WhiteShark,
Operantly you don't understand that "science" can't prove if there is a higher being or not. It's called faith![/quote]Exactly. That's why the belief in a higher being despite missing evidence is unscientific, irrational, self-deceiving and ignorant.
What you fail to realise is that religious claims are just as bogus as any other unscientific claims, some of which you might even see as such. Do you believe in fairies, unicorns or leprechauns? No? Then why do you believe in a god? What leads you to believe in a supernatural being other than the feeling in your gut?
Faith is just a placeholder to make up for lacking evidence. If you want to join the debate, go to the religious discussion...M A S S I V;4047629Also, with the Genocide and everything bad thats happening there is no intervention because we were given free will. You believe it is, but you don't know.
