Shame it isn't sooner. At the moment i am able to travel on all train services for one quarter of the normal price, though on First Great Western services i can travel absolutely free. :naughty: A train journey from Trowbridge to Paddington (approx 99 miles) would cost me c. £1.50. :D Unfortunately i am only eligible while i work part-time.
Mr. MattOh. Explains a lot...
Now I know why he was so interested in watching Romper Stomper a little while back.
Hey, right on, London. Sounds like there's work to be done, but it ought to be pretty cool.
Nice one London, if only to see the French sulking when they didn't get it. And they're going to use the Millennium Stadium for a few football matches, which means the Olympics are coming to Cardiff too!:)
Wow. This is the biggest defeat for France since...well, every battle in their country's history.
Plus I thought the last time they hosted, they sucked. London will kick ass.
Im pleased that London will be hosting the olympics, but they have had to trim it down to only 26 sports.
I was rooting for them from the start. I have always liked Great Britain for some odd reason. I see enough of the States anyway, so I didn't really care for them to be here. But I would like to see the olympics in Australia as well.
Wern't they in Sydney in 2000 or something? They wont be in Australia again for a while.

Its great that London has won the Olympics, as its going to transform a lot of the country, not just London. The whole of our transport system is going to have to be updated, which we have needed all over the country for ages. The train system will be improved, which is the best thing (the current one is poor.) Plus beating France in getting the Olympics was great. A mastercard advert in the Times read as follows:
Cost of new infrastructure: £1 billion Cost of improving transport: £2 billion The look on Chirac's face: Priceless
Mr matt you don't have a clue what you are takling about do you, just because you have been on the underground it doesn't mean you know it back to front, 90% of the time the underground is running you can go on any carraige and on average about 6 other people in there, and no one is expecting people to drive around in london in their stupid cars, that is what we dont want, yes its horrible driving around in london isn't it? don't you think that is so great? don't you think we have done that on purpose? only lazy self centred twits drive around in cars in cities like london, It will put foriegners off bringing their cars here, we would be alot better off if we scraped roads in central london full stop, just loads of bicycle lanes and lots of walking space. And as for trains i take 2 first great western trains from London to bath every week and alot of the time its a pleasant relaxing journey and very rarely uncomfortable, and if someone is too fussy and girly then they can pay a little more for first class.
