Discuss lucid dreaming. I don't want to know what kind of dreams you have, but the principle of it itself. I myself rarely have lucid dreams. When I do, I usually enjoy them. For those who don't know, lucid dreams are dreams that you can remember.
the only time i've had a lucid dream it was only part lucid. i only remembered part of it.
the principle of it? .. just our minds thinking while we're asleep or something.
Lucid dreams are interesting. I think its a mix of our mind thinking what we did earlier in the day combined with our current condition and surroundings. There is a common example in which when our minds hear a car backfire for instance, we might associate it with a gunshot. Our dream will take that over and switch to a dream about a gunfight. And of course, therefore, if there are any hidden messages, they aren't about the future. They are about the past.
Lucid dreaming is also probably our minds entertainment while it does boring night shift work. While it goes through our memory possibly like a Microsoft PC (deleting anything it thinks isn't of any use) it combines several of them at a time and paints a picture. Some dreams even involving word play or common phrases to convey a persons current thoughts and condition.
I myself rarely have lucid dreams for the reason that i'm too tired to have them by the time I go to sleep, but in the occasions I do I normally recall them and find no apparent sense in them. It also takes anything up to twelve hours to remember them.
Well, I hardly ever remember my dreams. When I do, I'll wake up remember it clearly, then I'll just go back to sleep....and sometimes I'll remember them later in the day. I then just write 'em off, because it's usually during school or I just don't want to tell people about 'em because it would sound stupid- "Hey, want to hear about this dream I had?"...
But yea...I can't remember any now.
I hardly ever remember my dreams either, exept when I die in them or something. I remember them more often when I am woke by some one or my clock instead of just waking up when ever I do.
i don't really ever remember my dreams... i mean, sometimes i wake up remembering part, but then forget in the next 5 minutes... yeah, thats about what its like every "morning" not really morning though... about 12:00-1:00... yeah so its morning for me then... but anyways... i'm not quite sure what you mean by lucid dreams though...
isn't there some statistic that you have 20 dreams a night you just don't remember them?
I dont see how they can tell how many dreams you have a night.
Yea...other than noting brain activity...I don't see how they could either.
Id say 90% of the time I can remeber my dreams. Especially if I wake up on my own. I don't usually enjoy them, but on occasion I do like them. I can have dreams lasting for up to 3 days in a row, that freaks me out. I remeber when I was young I had a dream 2 days in a row about a haunted carnival, and then I blew my self up in the dream because I didn't want to come back. Hah
