What's with all the sex-related topics lately?

I believe circumcision, whether male or female, is genital mutilation.

Understandably, if the foreskin is sickened it should be removed, but there is absolutely no reason to remove a completely healthy piece of tissue. In regard to religiously motivated circumcision, what if the child rejects the parent's religion when he is an adult? What if the child interpretes the religion differently and comes to the conclusion that circumcision is not compulsary?

If men feel circumcision is necessary, then they can still have it done later with their own consent.

What are your opinions?

It is usually done at a very early age. It is considered by many to reduce health risks though I question the validity of that.

it has been proved in studies that having circumcision cuts the risk of aids significantly, it is so significant that a the risk of spreading aids through heterosexual sex decreased by 65% and UN is advocating mass circumcision in africa, ahh good to be back

Well when you wash your gentals you need to pull down the foreskin...and if some twit forgets to pull the fore skin back up and infection could settle in after all a nice warm dark place helps many infections grow.

I believe it is, parents should simply teach their children to wash properly. My parents had it done to me and its not overly dramatic, but a friend of mine needs to go through extreme lengths to feel anything at all.

Now that seems completely illogical. It may reduce the risk of infection, but there is NO way it could possibly lower the risk of STD's like AIDS. How could it? Not having a foreskin isn't going to stop a virus....
