Voting yay. I've been married twice: once to the wrong person, once to the right one. Marriage can be awful if you're in it with the wrong person, or if you rush into it like I did. However, once I matured a bit, met the right person, and married her, everything has been great.

Do we have arguments and rough times? Sure. But we've both made a commitment that we believe in, so we work the tough times out. The ceremony and ritual of marriage give both partners an investment in the relationship. Of course, if you don't love your spouse, all the ritual in the world won't help.

If there's no commitment, it's a lot easier for people to just say, "You know what, I'm walking." The marriage vows, if you take them seriously, help keep your relationship going.
