What are your thoughts or reaction? I am not a church goer, but i believe the Bishop that said they were not allowed in does not know that jesus loves everyone....

Freedom of religon means religon is free to turn you away. It is a major sin to Catholicism so it keeps you from receiving the Eurcharist, and that is the church's choice. They found a Church that welcomes them, and I'm happy for that, so I don't see what the problem is.

As a Roman Catholic you have to follow some basic rules. And they weren't doing it. Every organization has such rules. Think of communion as an "inheritance". Christ left in his "will" a list a rules you have to follow. If you don't follow these basic rules, you get cut off. Simple as that. Now Protestants have a different take on this, but that's how the Roman Catholics see it.

i believe the Bishop that said they were not allowed in does not know that jesus loves everyone....

Do you know what Jesus said happens to the people who don't follow the rules?

This is a slippery slope. Personally, I think the Bishop has the right to do so. Roman Catholicsm is just about as anti-homosexual as can be. You can't ask a religious person to preform a religious task on people who have elements in them which are 100% against said religion. If you catch my drift.

Don't get me wrong, I'm verymuch for gay equality and gay marriage and such, but this is something I disagree with.

The chruch is private. They can make their own rules and refuse communion to whoever they want. If they want it, they can go elsewhere.

Personally I belive these people will still get into heavan. You don't need commuion to get into heavan. Simply being nice to others will get you in.

I'm afraid that doesn't quite cut the mustard - at least in the Christian doctrine.

Welcome to the hypocrisy that is religion. On one hand they preach acceptance and that Jesus loves everyone, while on the other hand they punish people for having opposing differences.

Romans 12:19

Avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

They should follow their own advice and admit everyone who wants to be admitted, let God sort out the unworthy ones later.

Goes against the religion and they should know that. They should find another church or a more "lax" version of christianity.

To be honest its just two old guys with a loving bond, no harm done.

This is a fact…and what the hell is wrong with some gay people – HELLO!!! Did they actually think a Catholic church or any legitimate church that shuns homosexual behavior is seriously going to take them seriously or entertain the idea? Lets be blunt - besides attempting to interpret what God likes or dislikes, it is against Christian scripture to allow same sex coupling. Therefore, it becomes blasphemous and insulting to the religion in question. They should be thankful that they were turned away and not beheaded.:spank:
