(Heres my fictional incredibly evil dude) He breaks into the houses of new mothers who have just had their first baby. He steels their bays while they are sleeping cooks them, eats them and leave their bones in the crib for when the mother wakes up. He gets caught by police, he's sent to court. His defence lawer gets up and says. "It's not his fault. The reason he did what he did is that he is completely and utterly insane." "Oh," replys the judge, "thats all right then, off you go."

Yeah, off you go to the cell. Then you get ass raped by a bunch of dudes and maybe even killed for that crime you did to the babies. If you are lucky you will get sent to a mental hospital for life.

O.K. I just think that logically if two people murder someone then simple logical reasoning says they have an equally serious problem. No matter through what criteria one of them happens to be called insane. I would not rather that people classed as mentally ill are sent to prison with everyother criminal. An ideal solution would be that serial killers who arnt classed as 'insane' get help with whatever problems they have.

THer's a diffrence between being insane and bieng a serial killer. An insane person makes actions that are completly unreasonable, paranoid, and illiogical. A serial killer, Although he may have some kind of mental disorder, it doesn't mean he's insane. He still makes logical and reasonable choices, even given how twisted they might be. Even so if a serial killer is classed as insane, any attempt to give him help woud be so mostly likely in vain.Even if the person has schiziphrenia(Spelling?) and you treat it, He still poses a huge threat to society, and should be quarintined/killed.

Here in Texas we tend not to let anyone off the hook too easily.

Both those types of people have killed somebody becasue their mind tells them that it is alright to do so.

It's not so much a free ticket out of prison as it is a transfer. And I'm sure not ever being let out of isolation isn't too much better than a maximum security prison. After a while of isolation, I'd have cravings to have my salad tossed.

You are so wrong. If someone is insane and commits a crime it's not their fault. And they're hardly let off thre hook. You think going to a mental hospital is fun? Ha! That's rich.
