I don't know about any of you, but I am sick and tired of these overused political terms. I'm just wondering which one adds the most nauseum...

In my opinion, it would have to be islamofasicm. I swear, if I hear it one more time, I will throw a temper tantrum...

"War on terror" and all the terminology connected with that are quite annoying if you ask me.

I would have to say Islamofascism makes sense because the religion is a sort of fascist religion. So is Judaism :uhm:. Christianity rocks. The phrase that I think was the funniest would be when Bush said, "Everyone thinks we should pull-out, and I agree, I mean stay the course and pull-out when everything is under control by the Iraqis." Some crap like that lol.

It's not on there:

All the 9/11 stuff and the links to it. How many times am I going to have to hear it, the rest of my freaking life! I know it was bad but how long can they qoute this!

I mean they didn't use the whole "Remember Peral Harbor" thing for but a year at most. And they certainly didn't compare things to it like we do now days. I swear, if I hear anonther person say something will be worse than or like 9/11 I will strap a bomb on myself and go blow up. It is that annoying to me.

usually I stray away from politics but this thread is ok. I found the most annoying "buzzword" for me to be "culture of corruption." If you want a list of the most used political buzzwords, then I suggest checking out: http://www.languagemonitor.com/wst_page12.html

Islamofascism actually makes sense when using it to reference terrorists. But it is indeed overused.

The most overused is as Chemix said "Iraq=Nam" the only thing they have in common is they are both unpopular. The minute someone compares Iraq to Nam in anything but popularity they immediately lose all credibility since they obviously know nothing about Nam.

Nam was a defensive war protecting South Vietnam from the attacking forces of North Vietnam. A peace treaty was signed and the war ended so the U.S. pulled out. The North then went back on the treaty and invaded South Vietnam. By the end of the war the U.S. pretty much smashed the North Vietnamese and even the Viet Cong was destroyed. All that prevented total victory were really the rules of war implemented at the time.

Yeah, I have to agree with that...the only comparison I can draw on the two wars is the unpopularity. I mean, it's kind of hard to sign a peace treaty with terrorists and rebels/gaerrilas who have no base of opperations in any one place, as opposed to North Vietnam. But what you also have to take into concideration is the fact that with Nam and Iraq our Presidents either lied to us or used false information to draw us into a war that did not have as much support as originally suggested (or falsified by the government)...take it as you will

How does this work with Nam? What information was falsified? Him maybe I too need to read up more on Nam because I always understood it that Nam was a war to stop the spread of communism in gneral and specifically to defend South Vietnam from it. When was it ever anything else but that?
