Im bored out of my damn mind with this place…my town

I wish I could leave this place, and never come back. This town is dead. Every one here conforms to the conservative christian way of life, and they consider my views as unpatriotic, or un-American. But really, they are the ones who are un-American because they only care about them selves, not America, or the problems in America. If they really wanted to be patriotic, they would vote for the right people, and care about others for once.

I hate this town. It’s so contradictive. Now I can see why all of the cool people are moving away.

So you say.. Well then move retard!… Ya sure. I’l just drop out of high school and filp burgers for the rest of my life like an uneducated idiot. I can’t move. I don’t have enough money now to get me any where, or find a place to live.

I don’t know.. Pay no attention to me, or my complaining. You don’t even have to respond. I just posted this out of frustration.

Finish high school, get a scholarship, and go to college somewhere far away. Problem solved.

Only for your own life.

My advice, make change if it annoys you. Do stupid, absurd things, that change the way people see the town and their lives (that doesn't mean make people kill or anything like that). Buy some white paint, and offer helpful suggestions to drivers by adding some tips on the road. Vandalise the boring, and be completely creative and preferably harmless) in it.

First of all, that's no solution for my life either. However if you're going to give him advice, give him reasonable advice. One kid is not going to make change in a town, and if he gets together with a group to push for change, by the time he gets it he won't want it anymore.

And for god's sake don't recommend vandalism. Even in the abstract. People will take you seriously.

You've never seen creative 'vandalism' or protest. Like writing STOP on the middle of the road at night, and then during the day watching to see how many actually bother. Just for the hell of it. Or setting up a box for people to come and vent about their lives. Hardly vandalism that, but it makes changes.

Writing "stop" in the middle of a road is extremely dangerous. If someone gets killed in an accident he could be charged with manslaughter. I'f I was stuck in a town I didn't like, I'd rather be there a free person than stuck behind bars.

Clever, constructive, nonviolent vandalism is an absolutely capital way to make something fun out of something everday. Rattle your towns cage a little. It seems like they need it. Hang up silly posters around town, or drop intriguing leaflets from a plane, or go for something bigger, as marsoe suggested. I have yet to do anything on such a grand scale yet, but I've seen my fair share of witty pranks. [QUOTE=nameless720]I’l just drop out of high school and filp burgers for the rest of my life like an uneducated idiot.

You know, college is severely overrated, especially here in the states. The whole "you won't be successful if you don't go to college" treatment is complete bullshit, remember that. Do what you want, be happy, and screw everyone else.

I don't think vandalism is the answer. It's crude and antisociable. I think that the whole if you 'want change make change' is the path. I'm a Liberal Democrat stuck in a heavily conservative area. So I decided to join the LibDem political party here in the UK, and donate time and money to change the world for the better, not vandalise and defile. So basically be constructive not destructive.

Both locomotor and I said creative, constructive vandilism, of the boring. Not randomly smashing stuff. Like sticking "Aliens listen to you!" stickers on phone booths or something. Or better, "This phone is tapped!".

Unless you are very politically aware or interested, without a strong youth group, a political party can be very boring. That being said, it can also be incredibly involving.

Stop being such a wrist slitting emo and do something about it.

Join the military. Better yet...

Get your grades up (if they are low). Join a sport (if you aren't in one). Do some sort of community service).

Then apply for an ROTC scholarship. They'll send you to college mate. Not only that, but in your freshman year you get $900 for books and $250 for "living expenses". By your senior year, that $250 turns in to $600.

Then branch into something you would want to see yourself doing out of ther service, like finances, medicine, if you don't want a combat arm.

If you have any questions about the ROTC scholarship application process, feel free to ask me. I was awarded one before I elected to go to a different school...
