Al Jazeera English - Asia-Pacific - N Korea 'tests weapons on children'

You've got to wonder....

What is this regime up to? Their retarded missile antics have already cost them what few "allies" they had. Their atrocious treatment of their own citizens rivals the worst dictatorships we've seen in the last century. Their entire purpose of existence seems to be to stockpile enormous amounts of conventional, biochemical and nuclear weapons for some future war with the rest of the world, because they certainly won't find anyone who will put up with their shit and ally with them (with the possible exception of Burma).

I nominate North Korea as likely the worst country to live in in the world, and its leadership the craziest and most dangerous.

Thoughts?

terrible... however, i reckon they could find a few allies. Iran, and thus, Syria, perhaps, then groups like Al-Qaeda would work on the side of the North Koreans, indirectly. if they have a chance at helping a group to "destroy the west", i imagine they'd take it . i think there are still a handful of nations who would yield support to North Korea, but they wouldn't stand a chance against the west.

Well, on a practical level, mentally handicapped children are one of the least valuable sets of people in any given society; you're not going to test chemical weapons on a valuable doctor or some other professional.

Personally I think that's disgusting, but I can see why they're doing it.

I seem to remember orphaned kids in the American social services being used to test drugs because it was really easy to get consent off of their COs or something like that. And wasn't there something about minority ethnicities being used to test medicines during the latter half of the 20th century? Not to mention all the people who were supposedly given experimental drugs in the military. I think everyone does something similar, it's just the degree to which we brush it under the carpet and rationalise it that varies.

i seriously doubt that, I bet that north korea would make it look like their allies were the ones also holding the weapons of mass retardation so we go over there and bitch slap them too. just so north korea gets some blame off of it and giggles quietly to itself.

it's hardly concerned with threats, or consequences. if it was, it would stop testing missiles, and stockpiling chemical and biological weapons. and attacking north korea wouldn't be easy. they are well trained, have millions of soldiers, and have mountainous terrain. it would be a very bloody war, and north korea's lack of humanity would cause further disadvantages to the USA, with chemical and biological weapons.

There is a big difference between testing medicine and testing chemical weapons. Which is not to say what other countries may have done in terms of sick medical practices isn't also disgusting, but testing chemical weapons on any innocent civilians is just about at the peak of evil, as far as I'm concerned.

I'd have to agree with the OP, North Korea is the worst country in the world, bar none. In fact, it may be the worst country in history. Thank God they can't really do much beyond their borders though.

I don't believe North Korea is concerned with what any other country thinks of it. North Korea is the last state in the world where people still believe their leadership is a deity. I wouldn't be surprised if Kim Jong Il believed it himself.

You know, these children whom are being tested probably don't mind it all that much, basic math for an elementary school child in North Korea goes like this: If I throw a grenade and kill 2 Americans, and throw another and kill 3 Americans, how many did I kill? The answer is 5, for all you unedecated people who don't know. :P These children are probably being told their sacrafices will ensure the fall of the Western world. In fact, adults in North Korea think their hands will rot if they touch something from South Korea. Keep in mind, a friend gave me the link to this thread, I didn't read anything, only responded. I'm probably going to go read it now...

Keyser_Soze;4956911but they wouldn't stand a chance against the west.

You are correct. You are correct if the Wizards of Waverly Place teleport our entire armies into North Korea at once, magically build us a base, and make sure it can't be destroyed. Do you know how big of an army the Koreans have compared to ours? I've seen this debate many times before... Anyways there is no way we could take them down without losing most of our forces. A lot of people tell me I'm defending North Korea to much, well I'm not, I'm just stating the obvious that no matter how well trained our people are, theres no way we can teleport them (forgive me if you actually did go out and find the Wizards of Wavery Place) inside of North Korea and frighten them with our well trained men and women. They would stand a chance against the West, a big chance, and China would back them up, just because they don't seem that close right now, if they put their minds together they could become more powerful then Hitler ever was. YOU HEAR THAT KIM JONG IL, YOU COULD SET ASIDE BEING A MUNCHKIN AND BECOME THE DICTATOR YOU WERE BORN TO BE!

^--- Assuming conventional weapons were the only ones used.
