Why do people have to work?

Don't be a blundering idiot, for the sake of the Pub.

No, I'm genuinely curious. People could just as easily go to Alaska or Siberia and hunt or fish there.

Archmage Cleps;4038267Capitalism. If people frequent his bar, it will stay open. If not, then it will close simple as that. The government certainly does not bail out companies using child labour to cheaply manufacture its products when child labour laws come into force.

That's not a very good analogy. Child labour laws involve forcing people who can't defend themselves to work for shit pay. That's a form of exploitation.

As I've mentioned before, there were bars out there which were already non-smoking long before the ban was enforced - I frequent two of them. A number of pubs which are trying to appeal to families were also non-smoking before the ban was implemented. There's certainly nothing forcing people to go pubs or bars at all, and for those who wanted to there were plenty of non-smoking choices (or pubs with designated smoking areas) available. Likewise, this also applies to the workforce.

Seriously, don't waste thread-space.

People have to work because they need money. Happy? I said it out loud.

In this regard , whether pubs should do one thing or another, I think it should be standardize so no pub owner has a edge on other. The government should make one buisness better and another suffer. The locking out public smoking is a way to not only ensure public health but also keep pubs honest.
