I've heard of a space weapon ban but not this. Because I'm going to the pub shortly and can't be bothered to find a link (as, in a few hours, I won't even remember GF exists), do you mind posting what you've found?
Yeah, how about a link?
Last I heard was a 5% hike in ammo prices, not 500% and a requirement for all ammo to have a ID stamp so shell casings and bullet fragments can be traced. The ammo cost increase was to pay for the ammo tracking law.
Also all unmarked ammo is to be destroyed by July 2011. One of the owners where I live is pissed off because he loads his own ammo (Match grade precision marksmanship competition).
There are already a couple of Democrats trying to push forth a new Assault weapons ban despite Obama's promises not to mess with the gun laws. The test will be whether or not Obama vetoes the bill or passes it.
-Barrels to rifles and shotguns less than 12" is ALREADY illegal.
-Ammo prices have been rising steadily for 6 years now. I still got a receipt for 1000 rounds of .40 and 7.62x51 that i bought in 2001, its a full 60 dollars less then what i paid just 3 months ago. War time consumption, increased demand and increased prices in brass are primary suspects here
-Id like a link on the 9 round thing. rifle magazines come in nice round numbers by a rule. 5, 10 15 20 etc. a 9 round magazine? ugh. And what about pistols? i think Cal. already has a law against any magazine over 10 rounds. seems like a redundant law if its true (which i doubt)
-i wouldnt doubt that there are those in Congress who wish to bring back the Assault Weapons ban. ive already banked on it. If it passes look for my name under gun broker for pre-ban magazines.
-Unmarked ammo? in what capacity? will it be illegal to buy clean unused brass like from Cor-Bon? this will make hunting with my Weatherby a lot less attractive if i gotta buy undialed, expensive .270....
I take what n0e says way too seriously

THANK GOD, he is way to busy with the economy, Iraq, the war on terror and energy problems to work on that now. I think an Arms ban would be a very bad idea now, and would spark alot of issues around the US, probly more then Obama can handle right now.
does this mean that people won't be able to buy Desert Eagles and Smith & Wesson Model 57 guns?
Im in heavy favor of more people buying Desert Eagles. The more folks that own those, the higher likelihood that crooks will use them, and the lower the chance of anybody actually being shot in this country.
i dont support hunting.. but well you can switch to cross bow.. medieval style dude..
