Personally I think this is a good idea.
NASA is trying to develop rockets from scratch while the USAF has new rockets getting ready to enter service now. On top of which IIRC NASA is having cost issues and design problems.
The early space missions were all sent aloft on Military launch vehicles and used military trained pilots.
Is it really necessary for NASA to design its own rockets? Command module and Lunar or Mars Excursion Vehicles I can see but no the launch vehicle, seems like they are trying to redesign the wheel. Use whats already available.
And yes I believe China is someone we need to keep a eye on.
To the title: Alright! here come the photon torpedoes!:naughty:
NASA doesnt have much money to begin with, why waste so much of it designing their own rocket? Just use what the Air Force has and save some money to get us to freakin Mars already.
Forget Mars, there is much that needs to be done here on Earth.
NASA and the Pentagon? It will never work out, it makes to much sense...
