For those who don't know what this is let me explain. Operation: Christmas Child is an event held by christians where they ask schools to put together a shoebox of presents and send them to some third-world, middle-east, african or aisan country. Sounds nice don't it?

No.

You're literally insulting them religously, there may be a reson they don't have christmas. yes, they are not Christians! It's worse than people who shout on the street telling people to convert. They send presents, use charity money to build churches or something and then if they become christian they get christmas.

Discuss.

To be perfectly honest, the recipients of the gifts are too poor to give a rat's ass about why the stuff is given to them. There is no requirement to convert in order to recieve the gifts either.

It's not a good world if different religions must not mix for fear of causing offense.

:ditto:

They'll just be happy that there are people in the world that are willing to try and help them. It gives them hope. Its the thought that counts. ;)

Hmm, I guess I never saw that side of it. I still feel it shouldn't be considered as a Christmas gift. I'd rather just donate freely. My school is making us donate to go on the christmas trip.

So, make it as neutral as possible. Use plain wrapping paper and suchlike.

Also, you get a CHRISTMAS TRIP?! Jealous, I am.

I ain't going on it, it's prolly some crap like looking through a war museum. It's pretty much corrupt. How is it at all charitable if your only doing it for personal gain?

The people still get the stuff, though. Call it what you like, I'm sure they won't mind.

Like they're gonna care if you've done it for personal gain. They'll just be happy that you donated something, and they'll probably never find out why you did it anyway. ;)
