So says POTUS. I for one am glad to hear this, of course it doesn't mean that the war is over, and unfortunately, the troops won't completely be out until 2011 (as stated), but I hope this means we can make more progress in Afghanistan and soon, hopefully, end the war.

President Of The United States. if i'm honest, i can't see it being long before iraq's government collapses and it becomes another iran or syria. no matter how long the USA stayed in there, it's inevitable. one good thing (perhaps the only good thing) about Hussein was that he kept terrorist groups in check, so to speak.

Yes, it's almost over. Iraqi's will be free, except that ...

-We need to find concrete proof of WMD -We need to find concrete proof about Saddam's liason with Al-Qaida -We need to find Osama bin Laden -We need to wipe out al Qaida cells - ...

Well, on second thought, ...

Embee;5387873Yes, it's almost over. Iraqi's will be free, except that ... -We need to find concrete proof of WMD

There never were any wmd's.

-We need to find concrete proof about Saddam's liason with Al-Qaida

There was no liaison.

-We need to find Osama bin Laden

No longer an effective player, assuming he's even still alive.

-We need to wipe out al Qaida cells - ...

Al Qaida is no longer an effective organization. The American government estimates that there are fewer than 100 Al Qaeda operatives still in Afganhistan. Since the DOD are rather infamous for lying, we can assume that the real number is actually even lower than that. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/president-obamas-secret-100-al-qaeda-now-afghanistan/story?id=9227861

Well, on second thought, ...

There was no point in even beginning this war.

:lulz: Ohh silly Nemmerle, you should know by now that the U.S. Government doesn't know how to save money. It will merely be diverted to some other under researched feel good program somewhere else. But don't you worry our politicians will still find a way to waste it. If only they could take a few lessons from David Cameron on how to cut spending back....

Really? Have you covered every inch of sand over there? [QUOTE=Bohemund;5388246]Al Qaida is no longer an effective organization. Since the DOD are rather infamous for lying, we can assume that the real number is actually even lower than that.

Why can we assume? Because someone lied to us? And what if that lie was to mindfuck us? You just trusted a liar, or showed us that you can trust them.
