I got three(3) reasons about this 1. To me it is disrespectful 2. When many countries stage anti-US rallys they burn American flags 3. To me to burn a flag is Un-American

"The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning" US Flag Code. TITLE 4 > CHAPTER 1 > Sec. 8(k).

I understand disliking the act when people in other countries do it for hate, but our laws wont stop that.

If they stopped flag burning, then what is their left to burn other than effigies of a world leader? It would be taking the fun out of public protest against countries (the American flag isn't obviously the only that has been burnt).

I believe he means for public display, like being anti-american.

If this is not the case, I withdraw my vote.

I do not like it when Americans burn our own flag to protest the government, or anything else. It is extremely disrespectful. If other countries burn our flag, good for them. I would think anyone in America would have enough decency to appreciate the people who died to protect us, and the flag that symbolizes our country.

People burn flags as a means of protest because they feel everything it represents has become dirtied by the government.

"To me to burn a flag is Un-American"

And I suppose having the first amendment taken away is American?
