*SW3D3*;3397123Well this is defienetly a topic that will suit the stuggle between Americans vs Europeans, no doubt. There is no other country on earth that is as political correct as USA. I will just write like that until further notice,I sincerely hope I don't have to bring out details, since most of you are probably pretty aware of this fact.

Yes and it sucks...Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor to name a couple fought against PC, but it only got worse - the small LOUD MOUTH minority of "do as I say, not as I do" popullation in this country are calling the shots.

Here political correctness isn't that bad and I don't know exactly how bad it is elsewhere, but I'd rather talk to someone who is overly politically correct than to someone who keeps throwing slurs around him because he thinks it's cool.

Jeffro;3397646I accidentally voted for "I don't know". Can somebody change that to Yes please?

Done.

My opinion on PC is generally "who cares?" Sure, abolishing "sexist" roadsigns in Spain is going overboard a little bit, but really, we've bigger things to worry about. As silly as PC is, it is pretty ineffectual, even on a psychological level, compared to a whole plethora of other things in our society.

people should use slurs, but we shouldnt be afraid of offending people if what we say is true. PC is out of control when it comes to illegal immigration.

Personally, I don’t let it bother me…in fact people often try to correct me when I say something they think is offensive on behalf of someone else; like the other day when I referred to a gentlemen as being blind, the lady next to me felt it necessary to impose in my private conversation and actually said, “oh…no, you mean visually impaired, he’s visually impaired, we don’t say blind.” Short of telling her to shut her pie-hole for insinuating with her tone that I didn’t understand this concept, I just gave her one of my trademark looks and told her, “…it’s blind, don’t pull that PC crap with me, ok.” She was of course, shocked because of my tone and fact that I didn’t grovel for forgiveness and get paranoid that I offended someone – please. Society takes itself way to seriously. This whole PC crap has made everyone look over their shoulder when they say something even if it is meant as a benign statement or word.

Some of it has.

Some of it is utterly insane, damaging, and degrading. Some has a good purpose, and seeks to remove inequalities and injustices. Unfortunately, it all gets tarred with the same brush.

Its just a warning signal. Political correctness is just as ineffectual as the cultures that produced it. And if one's culture is ineffectual, what else does one have left? Its clear that our cultural elites hate the societies they live in. Look at how they interact.

Its obvious that European and American elites like eachother much more than they like "the little people" in their countries. Looks like we've developed an aristocracy again. Oh, and don't kid yourselves guys. Europe is a hundred times more PC than America is. At least we're allowed to have flags up, print offensive cartoons, and have sexist roadsigns. :p
