What im basicaly polling for is the possiblity of a zombie like virus to EVER happen, be it dead coming back to life, people going deranged and overly aggressive to the point of cannibilism, or mabye the deterioration of the brain leading to increased aggressional behaviour.

Bringing people back to life? 0%

Leading to deranged or aggressive behavior? There is probably a real chance that this could happen. The mad cow disease and rabies cause such behavior in aminals, so why shouldn't it be possible for people? Apparently it takes a while though before the brain is damaged to the degree where the behavior changes, so even if such a virus would be highly infective it wouldn't lead to your typical zombie-movie scenario.

A zombie-like virus doesn't necessarily have to bring people back to life. In any case, a rabies-type virus is certainly possible, though with antivirals and immunizations an outbreak would be very rare. In any case, such a disease could also be a semi-sentient parasite feeding on the nervous system. This is probably more far-fetched than the virus idea, though I don't think it's impossible.

Someone could engineer a rabies virus to be similar to a strain of the classic zombie virus(minus eating brains) Will we ever see something like the rage virus from 28 days later? Probably not. Would I still be pumped for an outbreak of something like the rage virus? You bet, as long as I am not infected with it.

30% - My gut, conscience, and common sense tells me no but I can't prove it.

I'll never say never, but I highly doubt it would happen. Kinda like Pethegreat said, rabies or something could mutate or be engineered but I don't see that coming any time soon.

I don't understand why people think that a virus is going to turn people into zombies. Because that's not what a zombie is, a zombie is a living corpse. And no, its impossible to bring somebody back from the dead. So I'm gonna say 0%.

It could be possible, seeing as it happens in animals. But the whole engineering thing is harder than most people think. So it's possible, but I doubt anybody plans on spending the time or money to do so.

Never say never, but it's certainly incredibly low on my list of things I'm worried about, so I guess I'll go with 10%. Rabies would have to mutated quite a lot to be anything like the "rage virus" or the L4D virus. It generally kills in a couple of days, as far as I know, which means it is pretty hard to pass along.

Me and my friends already have a plan for the Apocalypse, we go up north to the Yukon and live with my Uncle. He lives in a tiny mining town, no Zombies up there. :) Your all welcome to join us, but you have to swear allegiance to Canada and join the Rangers. ;)
