A touchy subject I know, but I recently read a facebook post from some pro-life group that states that pro-choice is the same as pro-abortion. Now, to me, pro-abortion is basically saying if you accidentally get pregnant or get someone pregnant you should abort as soon as possible whereas pro-choice would be basically saying, obviously, it's your choice one way or another.

What's your take on it?

I'm pro choice which means I don't care what you do. If I was a woman with an unwanted pregnancy I would probably choose not to abort (assuming there were no medical complications), but I don't care what you do. That's what pro-choice is, letting other people do what they want.

I'm definitely pro-choice, why bring a child into a world of pain and suffering because the mother has no means of taking care of it?

I'm pro-abortion. I think that just as before becoming pregnant a woman who does not want a child should be advised to use birth control, after becoming pregnant a woman should be advised to abort if they have an unwanted pregnancy. I just view it as another type of birth control.

Hell, let's be honest - if men could get abortions there wouldn't be many humans walking around. =p

Obviously I'm not strongly pro-abortion, 'Humans are a plague on the fact of the earth and should stop reproducing forever!' Kinda thing. But yeah, I think it should be encouraged - to a degree.

To me pro-abortion and pro-choice is the same thing. I don't think every single person that is pro-abortion actually gets abortions everytime which is what defines pro-choice.

I'm absolutely against abortion. I consider it offensive--abortion is tantamount to murder. It's taking a human life.

I view it this way: you reap what you sow. You choose to fuck and accidentally get pregnant/get someone pregnant? You should have to deal with the consequences. Abortion is not only murder but it's a way of abdicating responsibility.

There's a certain irony in any ideology that looks on children both as a desirable/joyful thing and something to punish the parents with.

I didn't meant to imply that pregnancy is some sort of punishment. Not at all! I was just trying to drive home the point that people need to realize the risks they're taking before they do something--and be willing to own up to them. Accidental pregnancy is one of the risks of intercourse. If someone is pregnant, they shouldn't be allowed to commit murder because they don't want a child.

I agree with you about abdicating responsibility, but whether or not it's considered murder, well:

Now I know I've posted a few videos of his material, but just so you know I don't completely agree with every single thing he says, it's just that he has some interesting and often valid points on certain issues.

Oh let's not get ahead of ourselves though. What's your opinion on rape? Not exactly the person's fault who got raped. Why be responsible for your rapist's seed? And please tell me you didn't get your "You reap what you sow" from wjlaslo's signature. Major facepalming to be had if you did.

I'm obviously pro choice. There's no such thing as "pro abortion". Pro life means never abort a fetus. That would mean pro abortion would mean have an abortion whenever you are pregnant. Which doesn't make sense, their whole argument is invalid.
