When signs and symptoms do occur, they may include the following:

Dull pain in your lower pelvic area Urgency of urination Difficulty starting urination Pain during urination Weak urine flow and dribbling Intermittent urine flow A sensation that your bladder doesn't empty Frequent urination at night Blood in your urine Painful ejaculation General pain in your lower back, hips or upper thighs Loss of appetite and weight Persistent bone pain

err...I actually experienced all of the above and went to see the doctor today. He gave me some medicine and I have to go through some tests, next week maybe.

I do have this burning sensation while and after urinating. Is it due to infection or do I have cancer?

sorry to open this unpleasant thread but needed someone to talk about it.

I dont know about the other symptons, but a burning sensation can be caused by a lot of things... isnt prostate cancer something for 'older' men?

I think some of the symptoms just mean that there is a risk you'll get prostate cancer later on. But I'm not sure about it, so better ask a Doctor.

Yeah, there are other things that can mimic, to some extent, many of the symptoms of prostate cancer. I don't recall them though, to tell the truth. Hopefully its nothing major though. Stay positive and keep an optimistic outlook. Its really all you can do until you find out the results.

I don't ever remember a 16 year old with prostate cancer

But yeah, those symptoms can actually be caused by a lot of different things, not just that

It could be a mild STD. I don't know the name, theres so many. Anyway, ones like those can be quickly and easily treated with anti-biotics. I'm sure it's nothing as serious as cancer.

Cancer is overrated, those are just very common symptons for countless things. Infact most of aren't neccesarily 'symptoms' for particular things, they can just happen anyway. Most likely thing is that you have a cyst down there (just a lump goes away soon enough) I know for fact that is a dull ache in groin area and brings on the whole pissing razor blades feeling while screwing up your bladder and ejaculation. It just generally screws up that area so it could cause most or all of those things I'd say. Your doctor sounds kind of shit to be honest, if was you I'd check my balls, go to a good doctor and get a ultra sound or polo scan thing. Just don't worry about it, everyone gets scared about cancer at times, loads of people decide they definately have it because all the symptons etc then turns out was nothing. Symptons for cancer aren't there to inform you whether you have it or not, just there to scare you into checking up like most people should. If you do have cancer; the disease itself is overrated from my experience, the survival rates are very high and once you get through it then most people can forget it ever happened, rarely will it permanently effect you. Sure, it sucks having chemotherapy, but it doesn't go on for very long.... usually.

It could be a simple but painful infection of the urinary tract (An infection anywhere from the kidney to the ureters to the bladder to the urethra).

I had an infection of the urethra (urethritis) during my childhood (after an operation) and I don't wish my worst enemy to have one. Urinating felt like pissing needles and it didn't want to end because nothing was coming...

I hope it is "only" this kind of infection (as painful as it is) but it is still better than prostate cancer and can be treated with antibiotics (I assume this is what you already have to take as medicine).

You can find a short overview here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinary_tract_infection But obviously you already recieve medical treatment and that is, of course, better than any tips among laymen on the internet :) .

Nevertheless, get well soon!
