Wow..the self righteous snobs in the U.S.of A have been barking this god forsaken phrase since before the Vietnam War. Any dissatisfaction with the cuntry and they tell you to get the hell out. Is that what America was built on?

In other words - the nation is a pristine entity, infallable, and beyond reproach; thus, if you happen to see a problem with it, you should NOT discuss a damned thing, you should NOT open up any dialogue with people with the hope of making it a better place (cos 'perfect' can not get better, can it?). No. No, just get the fuck out..since thoughts that America is not as wonderful as it is hyped can only mean that you're a dirty communist/anarchist/terrorist/what-the-hell-ever, obviously seeking it's total annihilation..

Well screw that. If 'love it or leave it' was put into policy and enforced, half the population would be forced to either shut up or leave - and there would be no more discussion..everyone would agree on almost everything, and the truth would never be reached cos you can't have just one side of a story. If all the perceptive people who aren't self-deluded, aren't afraid to say something, and at least KNOW there is always room for improvement can't speak their minds - and ultimitely leave..guess what's left?

Self-deluded, flag waving gun-clutching morons who can not handle any criticism and who think that nothing's wrong (unless it has to do with nudity, video games, and O M G - abortion! - thats all that is really wrong in this country, right?), or just say there's nothing wrong. Fools, that's all that would be left.

Scientists would be forced to leave, as well, making the U.S.A even stupider - anyone who doesn't just compare America to it's hated enemies but compares it to other developed nations --- and more importantly, anyone who compares today's America to an older, better version of America - all these people would be have to leave, also; leaving behind the blind to lead the blind through a magical happyland which is slowly rotting from the inside out.

Everyone living in slums would have to leave too - or pretend their neighborhood is not a shithole ghetto, and just grin, and lie about their situation. ( is free speech a right we still have,or is an endangered species? )

The list goes on and on with those who would have to "leave it" if they don't "love it." Unilateralism, once again - this or that, black or white, right or left, 'with us' or 'against us'..there just seems to be no compromise. In my opnion.

but what do you people think - in America, if you have nothing nice to say about the country, should you hold your tongue - or if you do say something not so nice, no matter how true it may or not be, should you be deported from the country?

I think what you just said applies very well to your very own post. I agree Svendorn. If something is good in democracy, its the right to talk freely about what the government is doing, the right to disagree and the right to express its opinion to make the country a better place to live.

I'll be more worried when people start to 'agree' all of a sudden. You should always keep an eye out for things going wrong in government and bring them to task for it, it's not an 'if you don't like it get out' situation, the country doesn't belong to the side who won the election.

Sven, you simply base all this on your own personal experience. If you were offering constructive critisism you would be heard with open ears. I for example, love my country but I think it is far from perfect and there are many things that should be changed. However, all you throw at people is this extremely negative and insulting material about why the USA "sucks" and you can't wait to leave it. It's only natural that people tell you to "just leave if you don't like it" when you consistently degrade their country with your words.

Its not so much that we dont like negative talk from people about our own country, but when people constantly bitch about how bad the USA is, thats when you need to get the hell out. If you dont like something about the USA, feel free to discuss it with others. Im sure many agree with you. But if all you are gonna do is constantly nag about how the USA is the real evil in the world, etc etc, then go to Canada.

I don't think he does base this on his own crap--I've seen this too, and I don't even live there. It seems like if anyone makes a negative comment about their President or health care, or about the Iraqi situation in particular, many people just tell them to "love it, or leave it." So, with your logic, he just has to say a few negative things once in a while to avoid that? Stranger: since he has expressed his plans for moving out of the States, many still seem intent on telling him to get the fuck out...as though he weren't leaving fast enough. :uhm:

This is easy... If you don't like it here:

A: Leave. B: try and change it. C: deal with it and live your own life.

There is always someone else dying to get in and could use your job and home. I don't like a lot of things here, but I love living here.
