Europol Report: All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 99.6% that Aren’t | loonwatch.com

Quite funny, actually. For a long time, many people (including me) have thought that the majority of terrorists were muslim. Yet this study shows different:

In my previous article entitled “All Terrorists are Muslims…Except the 94% that Aren’t”, I used official FBI records to show that only 6% of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil from 1980 to 2005 were carried out by Islamic extremists. The remaining 94% were from other groups (42% from Latinos, 24% from extreme left wing groups, 7% from extremist Jews, 5% from communists, and 16% from all other groups).

Funny, there are more extremist Jews than extremist Muslims ... If this is a genuine study, then most of our discussions were pointless, and on the other hand, most of the claims that Islam is being portrayed too much recently is true ...

I'd be interested to see some serious studies about Muslims and the effects of the religion on propensity to violence.

I wouldn't be surprised if many Muslims are more violent than other people but not because of religion but because of other factors (upbringing in poor countries with totalitarian leadership).

I'd like to see a list of the terrorist attacks in the study as well what they defined as a terrorist attack.

Interesting statistic nonetheless.

I'd like to see the breakdown by mortality/morbidity or in DALYs. That would be very interesting, I think. Would Muslims overshadow everyone else simply because of 9/11?

I can't find much more on the study. But I think they've followed the "dictionary" definition of terrorism.

I didn't really understand the first sentence, but I agree with the second one. Extremists have committed the biggest terrorist attack of American history..

But that study only covers "US soil", So to tell who "majority" of terrorists are, you'd have to do a world survey.

Crusader has a point.

articleI used official FBI records to show that only 6% of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil from 1980 to 2005 were carried out by Islamic extremists.

These hundreds of extremists who plan on doing some terrorism just don't get to the USA.

And for me it's just as worse if they blow up 50 people in Afghanistan as in the USA. People are people.

It does kind of make the title highly wrong, as it makes it sound like that counts for the whole world.

9/11 wasn't as big as some other terrorist attacks. The Spanish Conquistadors attack on the Inca's is something I consider terrorism, and that was bigger than 9/11 will ever be.

True. But back then that wasn't defined as terrorism. You have to look at the time. You can't start blaming Spain for that or so, now can you? :p
