"Stripped"? There are still massive amounts of natural resources, and God knows their population is much larger. If anyone is "stripping" the land, its them. North Africa is being deforested, and that wasn't the French colonials' doing. And even without natural resources, that still wouldn't explain the collapse. Singapore has nothing except a good harbor, and they've rapidly developing, and will probably be in the First World within a decade or so. No natural resources, but lots of hardworking people.

The countries that failed have lots of resources, but they didn't make the effort required to hold things together.

Look at Western modern nations. The African nations started out no more desperate than the USA was when it first started.

How can you not believe that the European nations exploited everything under their control in Africa? They quite brutally stripped everything they could before it was unacceptable to do it anymore, explaining why they left post-WW2, leaving corrupt, chaotic countries in their haste. Colonization is inherently about exploitation(whether it be economic or not) and oppression of natives...

Look at Africa...during colonial times. Two nations are independent, Ethiopia and Liberia. Ethiopia able to resist colonization, while Liberia was under the protection of the United States. ColonialAfrica.png

Colonization fucked Africa, completely. It created artificial boundaries, left supportive elites who continue to siphon off Africa's potential wealth, erased African culture, and created ethnic conflict that plagues them still today.

I don't know how you can compare Singapore to Africa. Singapore literally was a port town which stood at the krux of European-Chinese trading...It wasn't raped for its resources, it couldn't have been.

we went from racism to the root of all evil O_O what's next? anyway, it doesn't matter who occupied where the facts are everone was occupied even if it was for a short time and they were changed by that.

everyone just needs to stop blaming the others and claiming that they were being racist.
