Thread Jack

snabbler;3527912How many of you have a different belief on the subject to your parents? How many of you atheists have religous parents? how many of you christians have atheist parents? and how many of you muslims have christian parents?

How many of you even know someone in that situation?

Edit:

And I mean a proper difference not just having a different belief about something small.

I have different beliefs from my parents. I was raised christian bapist, but became a deist in my teenage years. My mom went from being a hard core christian to be a mixture of christian/witchcraft/pagan. Don't ask. My dad goes with the flow. He doesn't really have a distinct belief. He lives life his way and nods his head at religion.

Delta Force;3527952Me. My parents tried to make me Christian, but it never worked out. By the age of 10 they gave up on me. I have not been to a church in 2 years now, and likely never will step foot in one again (Well at least not for religious reasons, I go to plenty just because they have cool archetecture). I am the only one in my family who is atheist, and I am very leftist. Odd because everyone else is very religous and conservative. But I am glad with the status quo. As long as I don't do anything stupid they won't have a reason to take me to a church, not that it would matter. I pretty much became immune to that virus around the age of 8 or so. But most people find it odd that I was never "Baptisted" or "Christianed" whatever it is you Christian guys do. Why would I want someone to crack some champange over my head, that is pratically assult! But yes, I have been saved from brainwashing, my mind is free to make it's own choices. I have not been born into my faith like you other guys, I cam to it on my own free will. Although sometimes I wish I would have been brainwashed. It can be hard to be a person of intellect, knowing all that is going wrong. And I don't even have relgion as a crutch to make me feel better with it's lies. Just have to gut it, but that probley makes me a better person than most. Or at least a tougher person. Long live Xenu! (Oh, couldn't help that)!

Good on you! Do you anyone else like that? And why has my thread been threadjacked. I dont know what it means or what it does.

Thread jack means the forum software screwed the pooch and made my post the first post. I couldn't delete it so i took my post out and just left that message. I must've tried a dozen times to delete that first post, but everytime i did it would log me off.

So after waiting for four days. Only two people have replied that they have a different reliegious belief to their parents. Make of this what you will. I know what it makes me think.

Two people equates to 100% of the people who replied so far. It makes me think that you haven't had nearly enough replies to draw any kind of conclusion. Currently the rest of my family attends church most Sundays while I do not, though nobody in my family is devout at all. So you could say my beliefs are different, but it would be misleading, as both my parents were agnostic at some point.
