I have noticed that in every resturant I visit the waiters and waitresses all hang on to the pepper grinders like the holy grail or somthing else like that. It really does annoy me no end;
Waiter: Pepper? Cutomer: Yes please. Waiter: Is this enough. Customer: WTF I didnt say you do it!
They can leave the salt on the table but not the pepper, its not like someones gonna put it in their bag and run off with it. What does everyone else think about the Pepper grail?

I like when a hot waitress grabs it and twists it, giving it all she has until I say I'm finished. Good times. :beer:

That cracked me up :p Don't know why, just did :lol: Personally, I can't say I've noticed (though I don't like Pepper), that is probably why. :)

You must eat at fancy resturants. We don't have waiters down here let a lone pepper that must be ground. Our pepper comes in little packets or in a bottle next to the salt. People that serve food down here are girls and are waitresses and they don't carry some sort of pepper grinding machine. They just take your order and serve ya.

Well that makes alot of sense???? Girls and are Waitresses, um well yes females generally arn't waiters??
Its not a machine, its a hand held, crusher type thing, you must have seen one at some point...

I work in a restaurant and there is one set of salt&pepper on every table. And no we (I'm a bartender though) don't put pepper on your food, you can do that yourself. I haven't seen any restaurant where they will pepper your food for you in my life...
Hmm, well in London they do it in all the resturants, well the um... nicer ones. I hear lots of people moaning about also. It is 100% annoying.

I did. I also was at a restaurant that tried to salt my spaghetti carbonara but ended up suggaring them. But the second time they got it right :)
Hehe, but one mistake is too many already, if im going to have a bill that is service included I want that service to be good and sensable, not burry your food in pepper or in your case sugar...

I'm a cook in a small casual dining restaurant. I have to say this is completely foreign to me. We've small salt and papper shakers at each table, along with sugar and sugar alternative.
Considering you were at a fancy restaurant, perhaps it is fancy pepper, and is too valuable to risk leaving at the tables? :uhm:
