Since tovarisi Mihail's favorite thing to do is bash the American invasion of Iraq and all the horrible things they did, I was thinking of talking about mother Russia. Thats right Mihail what you will see wont be pretty, what you will see wont be BS, and you sure as hell wont like it.
In early April of last year, Russian troops carried out three assaults against the village of Samashki in western Chechnya in the name of wiping out guerrilla forces.
This report is based upon interviews with villagers conducted by the human rights group The Memorial immediately after the assault. Written in both Russian and English, the report, which was submitted to the United Nations' commission on human rights protection, exposes the atrocities committed by Russian troops.
The pictures shown, were taken by members of the human rights group in the village and in the Chechen capital of Grozny. Other photographs were taken by British anti-war activist Chris Hunter in Grozny. The photographs are undeniable evidence of the massacre of Chechens by Russian troops.
The Memorial began its activities in December 1994, immediately after the Russian advance into Chechnya. Four to five members of the group remain in Chechnya to expose the inhumane acts conducted by Russian troops and Chechen guerrilla forces alike and to promote the protection of human rights in the regional conflict. The group is considered a successor to Dr. Andrei Sakharov, the renowned Soviet physicist and Nobel Peace Prize winner, and works closely with Sergey Kovaryov, a member of the Russian parliament who broke with President Boris Yeltsin and left Russia's Human Rights Protection Commission, which is directly under the president.
The group, through cooperation with various anti-war forces within and outside Russia, tries to promote non-military resolution of conflicts. It carries out anti-government activities to put a stop to the massacre in Chechnya and the torture of prisoners. But given that Russia itself is in the midst of a chaotic situation, many Russians do not give much thought to the conflicts in Chechnya. TKS expects The Memorial to send more reports and photos, all of which will be made available by us as they come.
Boyle noted that he had filed documents demonstrating both that the government of the Russian Federation is committing genocide in Chechnya--according to Boyle, in the current campaign alone, Russian forces have killed 40,000 Chechens, driven 250,000 from their homes, and put one million people at risk--and that its senior officials are doing so consciously. The convention requires that both provisions be satisfied for a suit to be brought
Suffering a disgraceful defeat in the (1994-1996) Chechen War, * Russia Attacked Chechnya with a vengeance in 1999 * .......At least 150,000 Chechens, 32,000 of which were children, and 20,000 Russian soldiers have died.
The Killing Continues *
Terrorists are Created
Following World War II, Russian leader Joseph Stalin * attempted a Genocide * of the Chechen People and their Culture. He was partially successful with over 200,000 dead as a result of his deportation * of the entire Chechen Nation .*
Today Vladimir Putin * , President of the Russian Federation, continues the destruction * of the Chechen Nation.
If this seems unbelievable please do your own research. It will not take you long to realize Putin's "war against terrorism" actually means "Genocide" * of the Chechen people and their rich culture. One example is the 1999 carpet bombing of Chechnya's capital city Grozny * . The Russian bombing destroyed 90% of the city and killed tens of thousands of Chechens. By no stretch of the imagination could such an atrocity be considered a "fight against terrorism".
If you think Bush is bad, think again, Putin's much worst.
I take what n0e says way too seriously

I have no problem with this thread as stuff like this does happen all over the world today. Those photos are pretty graphic however, so I just took out the [img] tags and put a warning at the top.

how many times do i have to tell people. this is a forum with young people. do NOT post links to sites containing images of dead and mutilated people! the internet is full of it, and if kids want to see stuff like that, they should find it on their own. GF is not a place for this.
Everyone knows Putin's got dirty little secrets swept under the carpet. However he doesn't perform his shady business under the pretense of "liberation, democracy and good will to all men". Thats the difference between Putin and Bush.
btw... According to devout Bush lore, Putin is no better than Saddam and therefore should be invaded post haste. I'll get me hunting rifle, Red Dawn a comin' yee haw!
It's part of the reason why I believe the world has gone to complete and utter sh!t.
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

but stealth3, when the chechens did the school thing you were all mad at the chechens.. by the way i think your really american.. now back on topic..
Just because Joseph stalin or Valdimir Putin does some bad things to chechnyans dosent mean it makes bush any lesser..heck atleast he isnt obssesd with attacking middle eastern nations. and russia dosent have a prison specifically made fo rmuslims..(unless there is one that i never heard of)
People are ignorant and they do not know the plight of the Chechen people. It consists of getting killed by Russians on one front and their own Chechens, that intimidate them into joining the terrorist groups or forcing them to give money and supplies on the other front. The US will not help because Russia is an ally and there's no benefit to helping Chechens because they don't have wealthy brethren like the Iraqi's who are members of the Arab community. Also the media likes to portray Chechnya as a once-peaceful place that never had a problem until Osama Bin Laden sent young men to destroy the WTC. The truth is, it's always been a problem but we never did anything about it. The media also doesn't like talking about the number of deaths of civilians in that country as it would shift the view from Iraq or other things. The truth is, that place is among the worst locations in the world and they seriously need to do something about that. The actions of our government are very hypocritical. We'll continue to portray the "efforts" of the Russians as actions against terror. Just like the 80,000 dead Kashmiris on the border of India and Pakistan. Just like the 12,000 Albanians in Kosovo. And the 2,000 dead from the conflict that spilled over into neighboring Macedonia. You get the point.....
Wheres the soo call peacefull Mihail now? Cowering in his little corner, not waking up untill there's a "bash bush here" thread. This was meant to show his hypocrisy.
but stealth3, when the chechens did the school thing you were all mad at the chechens
Why dont you go back to the root m8? You fight terror with terror remember? Mihail should. Plus Putin had the children's lives in his hands.
