okay, this might be alittle controversal but im going to ask anyway since we (meaning me and my husband) are having a debate about it with a few people.. Okay, now then.. Do you think that you HAVE to be baptised in order to go to heaven, OR do you think it all depends on how you live your life on wether or not you'll go to heaven or hell? now i know alot of you have different beliefs so, id prefer if you answer the question with an open mind. Thank you p.s. personaly im a non-denominational christian, and i dont think you HAVE to be baptized unless you want to. i was just wondering what other peoples views on the subject was.

I don't think entry into the afterlife requires any sort of ritual during life.

I am personally a deist.

I do not believe baptism will affect anything at all. I am atheist, and I was never baptized.

I don't think it affects anything, would be rather unfair of God to send all those to hell who think that a different ritual is necessary.

I just think you need to live a good life. I think if there is a heaven even good atheists will get there for instance. This is actually the teaching of the Catholic church too.

Don't worry about whether or not you get baptised. If there is a God (Which I don't believe there is one to begin with), I believe that frankly he wouldn't give a shit whether or not you were dipped in water or had oil thrown at your head when deciding whether or not you had lived a good life and "deserved" going to heaven.

Basically if you are good you are going to be with the nice, but boring people. Now if you are bad you get to party for all eternity with Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and a few popes.

A simple act you recive when you are born does not detrmine whether or not you get to go to heavan. You own concious decisions during life will place you.

I am personally a deist.

Same here. Relgion today is too polarized. A simple belief in God and the afterlife won't get too many people mad.

Same goes for me. The whole thing is so anthropomorphic, that its undoubtedly inconsequential.

I don't think it would make sense for God to turn down good people that haven't been baptized. Think about it. There's a serial killer and an honest man who was never baptized. God sends both to Hell. THink about it as crime/punishment. Killed people/Eternal Suffering and Damnation Didn't get baptized/Eternal Suffering and Damnation The crime just doesn't fit the punishment.
