I think we should "abort" people in a sense. Just kill off people.

No, I am not serious, idiot.

I thought that this thread was about sex education and not abortion? If you like to discuss abortion then dig up on of the 1000 threads about abortion.

i haven't become pregnant yet so i guess the sex education worked...

both boys and girls really need to learn about the joys and the dangers of having sex early enough before anything bad can happen.

I agree.

The Sex-ed I received at school was pretty lame and 90% of it was scare-tactic. It was some old scraggily (there is no better word to describe her hideous-ness) who taught us about sex, and to sum it up, all she talked about were STDs and teen-pregnancy. We got this 'education' in Grade 8, and was followed later by phys-ed and science in Gr. 9 when the teacher taught us anatomy and we had to watch a video of a woman giving birth :barf:

My own parents don't bother giving me 'The Talk', I guess they think I've learned enough from school to know about sex.

True, if you tell someone not to do something, they'll most often do it. Example: Mr. B: Don't drink that beer! Mr. A:

err.. that isn't totally true.. example: Mr. B: Don't shoot people! (murder) Mr. A: ok (If Mr. A is sane he will say "ok", if he is not however he will violent-smiley-093.gif It depends on the thing you are trying to ban (although sex education is NOT to stop teens from having sex but to stop them from doing it the wrong way). If they would tell kids not to have sex atall then there might be a small increase of teens having sex, but sex is also a thing that has to do with emotions, you will not just have sex because you are not allowed to but because you feel/think you have to have sex.

My sex education was okay. We could ask wich question we wanted and we had to come up to other words for wanking, rather fun actually. Damn, I even got condoms from the school when I was 14. Then there was a hot chick telling us about her sex experiences  There was also some gays and shit there too.

and Killor, your post made me laugh IRL, I mean, when Janet Jackson shows her nipple for 0.436 seconds in TV hell brakes loose. I think we're more liberal about sex here in Europe. An example is that you only need to be 15 to have sex here.

tyriel, I'm pretty sure the Sticky said something like: The Pub. The place to be for intelligent debate and personal issues.

I will say no more.

Anyway, I think sex education is a very good thing. It provides knowledge of the consequences of STDs and such. And even though it attempts to scare us away and we know it, it's still important to realize the risks of sex at such a young age and unprotected sex. I think at about age 15, parents should give their kid a condom. Just in case he decides he's gonna have sex, the parents should at least make sure it's protected before he starts something he'll regret.
