Alright, now to vent/post my opinion. No, I don't mean rant-vent kind of stuff that would have belonged in the melee, but that's closed anyway. Alright, I am sick and tired of porn popping up everywhere I walk, magazines with a naked girl except for her arms over her boobs and something else blocking her vagina/other, and all other similar things. I can't even go to a convenience store to go buy myself a drink without seeing a dozen of these magazines. What are these perverts trying to do to our kids? Make them horny perverts like them? It's getting ridiculous to the point of where I can't even turn on the TV without somebody ripping off their bra or somebody having sexual intercourse. I certainly don't want my kids to jack off every time I open the front door, when I have my own kids. Now I know where these dumb blonde jokes come from... What are your thoughts?

Penguin Unit;3849663 Alright, I am sick and tired of porn popping up everywhere I walk, magazines with a naked girl except for her arms over her boobs and something else blocking her vagina/other, and all other similar things.

There is a difference between pornography and sensuality (erotica). If it is tasteful posing and/or nudity in a painting, than it is art.

I can't even go to a convenience store to go buy myself a drink without seeing a dozen of these magazines. What are these perverts trying to do to our kids? Make them horny perverts like them?

Interest in a nudie magazine doesn't make you a pervert. Voyeurism does.

It's getting ridiculous to the point of where I can't even turn on the TV without somebody ripping off their bra or somebody having sexual intercourse

However when somebody's head gets blown off in a violent rage on television, that is acceptable? Hypocrisy?

I certainly don't want my kids to jack off every time I open the front door, when I have my own kids. Now I know where these dumb blonde jokes come from... What are your thoughts?

Like it or not, when your kids become teenagers, they will masturbate. It's a part of life and every guy (and most girls) does it. Discovering your sexuality is a part of the natural process and repressing that will result in future problems...

How old are you and what are your parents view on this? I imagine it will be strikingly similar to yours...

It may be bad, but it is silly to be more concerned about it than violent images or something. The main reason you see it so much? It sells, and sells very well.

what you should worry about more is them seeing peoples heads getting blown off and media blowing things out of propportion and making problems worse, videos on the internet of real people being beheaded and all that stuff

one time, one of my teachers played a video of a apache helo on borad camera as it was gunning down several people, you could see the people running and getting shot, one survived the shot so they shot him again ...thats fucked up

I pretty much agree with Jeffro on this one, though on that video of the apache, what was the situation, not that it makes it any less violent, but were they gunning down innocents or people coming to attack them?

You're looking to far into this, think of all the channels that don't show porn. If people have beautiful bodies, why not show them off? you have an option not to look at it. Grow up.

Is it something uncontrollable that makes you think that children no nothing?

You should be more worried about violet movies, vulgarity, and violence than partialy nude women on a magazine. Any magazines that have nudity in them are required to be in a black bag/case and if needed behind the counter. When your kids become teenages they will find nudity, porn, erotica on TV and on the internet. Avoid it for now but in the future you don't need to be so worried.

Disturbing Sam makes a good point. Regardless of that, the only way that we're going to overcome this innate 'fear' that people seem to have of the naked human is to expose it more often. The human body (though not all of them) is an amazing thing. Its image can be used for good. The Bare Witness naked bike race in Vancouver and all over the world for instance.. Please, do not look up the race if you don't want to see naked people.. The other big point is that violance is ten times worse than nudity. The things that are shown in movies and on TV are insane now. What's worse is how many people love it. Myself for instance. I can't get over the part of Live Free or Die Hard where McLane knocks the hamster dude into the grinder and gives a sarcastic "Oh no!".. I laugh every time. "Television is the first truly democratic culture - the first culture available to everybody and entirely governed by what the people want. The most terrifying thing is what people do want." - Clive Barnes
