Before starting this thread I searched the forums and couldnt find any threads like this. So do you think smoking should be banned ? I think it should be banned and taken off all the shop selves you get loads of kids/teenagers smoking these days which is a massive health hazard to themeselves by either getting cancer or shortening their lifes and to other people around them who breath in the smoke. Do you smoke ? be honest ;) I have never smoked and never will why would you want to ? its a massvie health risk so its addictive but why do it if your going to get cancer or die younger ? its really stupid. So what are your views ? My dad used to smoke alot but he had to give it up when my mum was pregnant with me.

My mom smoke all the time and I hate it. It smells so bad then all the crap you can get from it. I'll never smoke and it should be banned.

I have never smoked regularly (only in parties when had drank alcohol), but I still strongly oppose banning smoking totally. It's people's right to smoke and banning it totally would be impossible. Sure certain smoking regulations in public places are necessary and smokers must take into account other people too (like asking if it's okay to smoke in certain situations/places).

Furthermore, it isn't one to one that if you smoke, you will get cancer and you never know if you would have lived longer without smoking.

I've never smoked and don't know why anyone would. It's a person choice if they want to use them, but if they use them near me and affect my health then it should be banned.

Ban smoking? Maybe not - as most people say, it's someone's right to kill themselves if they want. I think there should be laws put into place, however.

I am not a smoker. At my school, smoking is not permitted inside the building. So what do smokers do? Smoke RIGHT OUTSIDE the doors, so it's impossible for a non-smoker to avoid the second-hand smoke if they want to get to class. There need to be restrictions on where you can smoke. I don't want to share someone's bad habit, and right now I'm either force to, or forced to flunk out of college.

Yes, it's someone right to kill themselves, though suicide is illegal? And when someone smokes in public, they're also killing everyone aound them too?

Here in NZ they recently banned smoking in pubs/bars/resturants. Best thing they ever did. I can now go have a quiet drink at the local pub without smoking a box myself.

I think Smokers are almost single handedly causing the cost of Health care to sky rocket...

I applaud the companies firing smokers unless they quit. Why should the rest of us suffer because they're are over taxing the sytem. Why should I have to pay for there Lung and mouth cancer becuase they don't have the common sense not to smoke.

I think they shouldn't insure smokers... That way we can let them smoke... And we get affordable healthcare...it getting bad...Thats why GM just laid OFF 30,000 people so they didn't have to pay the rising healthcare.

Same thing from Walmart...and its killing the small business man who can't afford the expense so they'll have part time workers.

Daniel 1989 UKEven if they choose to smoke I think it should be totally banned because there doing harm to there own bodys

It's their own business and there are many things that cause harm to the body in one way or another (when used in bigger amounts like cigarettes) like alcohol, greasy food like fast food or snuff. Should these be banned too?

This is like if the government would interfere, what happens in bedroom between two persons (like in North Korea).

Relander acts as though he's being deprived of a big mac and a decent belt to chase it down with...

you mention things that have good and bad points, yet smoking serves not good purpose.

Oh other than getting your fix
