In Israel this week a suicide bomber attacked a shopping mall in Dimona. Afterwards a bomb disposal robot inspects the area and the deceased attacker, removing his jacket and then proceeding to run over him to make sure there wasn’t any more explosives.

Seems kind of extreme but hey, safety first. Though if you were to look at these photos without the back story it would seem that the robot had gone rogue and started killing us humans. Heh, like that could ever happen.

Well there you go then eh? Safety first.

I was under the impression that there would be very little to run over in the case of a suicide bomber's body after he had bombed the target.

It is a safety procedure. I know, i live in Israel. This is actually funny from the perspective of someone not living in Israel, :) but to residents it's not. The only thing i wanna ask is this : is this about what happened in 4th Feb. 2008 ? I hope it is. (haven't followed my country's news lately :))

If they had any intelligence, they'd counter explode it.

They killed him before he set the explosives off. The robot then removed the explosives.

Oh I've been to Israel, and I agree completely. Not funny, it's rather serious. As far as I know it is.

Mihail;4224406If they had any intelligence, they'd counter explode it.
They do take such measures & quite alot. It's just in this case it was from safety & it sounds somehow awkward. But beleive me, u wouldn't say such thing if u were a citizen of this country. Trust me. :)
Oh I've been to Israel, and I agree completely. Not funny, it's rather serious. Thanx, m8. I love this country & i see what the current government doing to it. From the beginning of 2005 & til now, Olmert didn't do a shit. I understand people who chosed such lousy prime minister, feel ashamed 'coz of this. I just hope everything like this (assassination, suicide acts, etc..) will end up someday.

How does running over the body make sure there aren't any explosives?
