Pethegreat;3383129If she wants to drink, let her. Concidering she is 15 and it is first time drinking, she won't know what she is doing. She will wake up with a hangover and know not to go that far again.

You really do not have the party mentality. If the party was off the chain and you wake up with a killer hangover, than it was worth it. Also, you can get your drink on and not have a hangover. It's called drinking LOTS of water before you go to bed. Simple concept really.

I tried to convice a friend of mine to stop smoking. She did not take my advice on why to quit, and some other issues came up. I just cut of what little relationship I had with her and moved on. It was her choice to smoke, but she did not try to stop smoking even when I was around.

You cut off a relationship because of a personal vice? Geeze.

I did the same thing once to a good friend who liked weed. Maybe the effects of this drug aren't so bad, but it didn't have a good effect on him. It's probably the character you start out with that determies where you end up.

Well, I didn't want to end up like him, so we parted ways. I don't think it was a bad decision.

beef flaps;3383079Is this your opinion or a Wikipedia fact or something? because you are wrong. Why do some people drink a glass of wine? To fit in or be different? Or are you mainly talking about teenagers? That I will give you. But please don't speak for adults. That's of course, if you are just talking about weed (which is the drug at hand here I believe)

I guess i should rephrase. Those are the two main reasons why people START doing drugs. Adults wouldn't start doing drugs mainly because they are illegal. People drink because they can and its legal.

And yes all that is my personal opinion. ;)

That and other things. On our last date, she wanted me to ask some guy for a cigarette. There was a load of family issues as well, but that is for another thread.

And a 15 year old who does not have clue about drugs will rember to do that?

Bob L. Scrachy;3382431There are two main reasons people take drugs. They either do it to fit in or to be different.

No offense, but that was an extremely ignorant comment. Care to justify?

D.Sporky!;3381564Unfortunately there's no way you can completely stop her from doing drugs. The best you can do is tell her how much you care about her, and how it would worry you if she started taking drugs. Tell her you don't want her hurting herself, or have her put herself in a situation where others are likely to hurt her.

Yes, this is a big one. If she truly cares about you the way you do her, she will take a serious look at what she is considering and not follow down a path that may end up winning her the “Darwin Award”. If she mocks you or completely ignores you it is time to get hard with her, if that don’t work, it may be fate and time to dissolve this relationship.

well, she has always trusted me with everything. she would always come to me about her problems and i always did me best to help her. and she came to me about this to. and i gave her my opinion and she just stopped listening to reason. she wont tell me why she wants to do this, no matter how many times i ask her. and when i try to talk to her about it, she just shuts me up.

but i really am under the impression that someone is pressuring her to do this. and she is planning on doing it at her friends party. since i dont know her friends (she is a freshman, i am a sophmore) i cant go to keep an eye on her. i really feel stuck between a rock and a hard place
